Hi My name is Priya and i am a software professional. I am very thin . I eat regularly and good nutritious food. Rarely i take junk foods. But there is no sign of my weight increasing. What can be done to gain weight?

Hi, The easiest way to gain weight is to add calories to your diet. For every kg of weight gain you will have to add about 1500-2000 calories to your diet. Your diet must include at least three basic meals, and two snack meals, which should include high calorie diet, shakes, ice cream, butter, oil, cheese, dense potato, spreads and bread. If you are not gaining weight even after increasing your diet, then you should have a medical check up done to investigate the root cause.as there are many c ...

My name is Rajinder. The problem of excessive perspiration started past 5-6 years and its becoming worst. It's very embarrassing for me, i can't wear what i like can't go out with friends, all the time i just try to stay in air conditioned it's effecting my professional as well as personal life. Is there any treatment that can help me.

Hi, I believe your whole body sweats as you have not mentioned if any particular part of body sweats(like soles, armpits, palms). Mostly the cause of excessive perspiration is idiopathic and does not have any cause. You will have to look if there is any irritating factor like avoid excessive spicy food, try to see if you are using any soap which irritates your skin(if that is so then try using a bland soap, you may use a moisturizer also. Try wearing loose clothes and use plain dress material like ...

Dear doctors, I am a research scholar and working on signal transduction studies and regularly use several irritants and ion channel blockers. I am suffering from excess keratosis on palms and soles and some times deep painful fissures from almost two years. It was started as a small thickening patch an left arm and recovered after treatment with moisturizing creams. After that I went to Japan as part of my research programme and one nurse given me creams with anti-fungal compounds and urea but the problem was enhanced and started the deep fisures on my soles. I came back to India and used homeopathy medicine for one weak and after that i visited a doctor. He suggested me to apply lemon juice trice daily and use vitamin C along with high doses of antifungal tablets and creams. I used this medicine for 6 months which further worsen my situation and my skin became very thick and appeared like toe nails and spread-ed to all areas of palms and soles. I changed the doctor and he given me the isotretinol for 2 months and given vitamin A and D combination for 4 months which improved my condition alot. Now I am taking a dosage of 6000 IU Vit A and 1000 IU Vit D once for every 3days. I am 38 years of age and never had any issues with acne growing up. At age 35 I started experiencing a lot of acne on the lower cheek and chin, pustular type acne under the skin that would last for a weeks. What could be causing this at my age?

Hello, That would depend on whether you're a man or woman. For women hormonal changes are common the mid-thirties and this is amongst the commonest triggers for acne. There is also another type of acne called 'Adult Onset Acne' and this is seen in both men and women. Please note that the information I ha ...
