Hi!!
Your doctor has prescribed you medicines to make eggs which are probably naturally not being produced in the ovary.Theses medices are given to induce ovulation which probably in your condition is not happening if you are not able to concieve after trying for quite some time.
Inj hucog is given to make the egg rupture artificially by medicines.
Pregnancies after ovulation induction( which is happening in your case) result in successful pregnancies but one has to know that theses are termed as high risk pregnancies and you may have to be on hormone support throughout the pregnancy.
No chances of malfomed babies or any such side effects with these injection or medicines for hormonal support

Hi Doctor, Thanks for your response. I would like to clarify that my problem is not in concieving but in carrying on with the pregnancy. The last two times also I had concived naturally but after 8 weeks of pregnancy, I had to go for missed abortion. Since 2010, we have not tried to concieve consciously. Hence, what I am concern about is, after I concieve this time, will I be able to carry on with the pregnancy? What precautions should I take? I would also like to mention that I am overweight - 88 kgs. Does being overweight a issue? Also please let me know why Selace Forte and GLA 120 has been prescribed to me. Does these medicines help in loosing weight? Is it adivable to continue. Thanks & Regards, Kikim

These medicines are antioxidants and prevent any kind of oxidative damage to cells. In your case, you should try to rule out a condition known as thrombophilias in which there is abnormal clotting of blood and so pregnancy usually results in missed abortions.Carrying on the pregnancy is difficult in these cases
Being overweight also leads to difficulty in carrying pregnancy so you should try to lose weight and have a body mass index less than 30.
The above medicines are not for losing weight..

What tests needs to be taken to find out whether I am suffering from Thrombophilias? Can I get the test done without a Doctor's advice??
Dr. Ritu Sethi answered : 12 years ago
For detection of thrombophilias ,kindly get blood tests that are-anti thrombin 3,protein c,protein s,anti phospholipid antibodies-igg and igm, these tests are covered under thrombophilia screen offered by most labs and can be done without doctor prescription
