PAST HISTORY : Have a Stutter. Got my septoplasty done in 2006. I'm slightly over weight (height: 178 cms, weight: 95 kgs). Apart from that i don't have much of a medical history. Yes, i've been smoking marijuana on every weekends with friends for the past 1 year. Before that i used to smoke marijuana when i was in college 2000-2005. I consume alcohol during week ends. And i end up smoking a lot of cigarettes with alcohol. Roughly 15-20 sticks per day if i'm consuming liquor. otherwise i smoke 3-4 sticks during week days. Thanks!

Hi,
Well you are suffering from from gerd ( gastro intestinal reflux disease) and you can not improve till the time you are actually ready to quit many things.
Smoking causes excessive acidity so you will have to decrease it. Change in schedules of day waking up all night, also causes disturbed system which leads to acidity, so you will also have to improve that.
Don't drink excessively and that to empty stomach. And there are no such treatment which would allow you to have spicy food and enjoy life without having acidity.
Follow following instructions -
1) Reduce spicy food intake
2) Stop smoking
3) Reduce alcohol
4) Proper sleep wake up cycle
5) Regular exercise
6) Reduce stress,anxiety
7) You can have a pantoprazole before you drink, that will help you.

Thanks for your reply Puneet. I've cut down on smokes, i've brought it down to 2 sticks per day. Yes, again on weekends it tends to increase with alcohol but i'll now manage that as well. I don't like to eat spicy food at all. My taste is more into bland food, may be that's the reason why when i eat food (lunch) in the office i find it difficult to digest it, as you know in india people cannot make anything without adding chilly into it. But i'll see to it that i take alternative steps to avoid lunch at my work place and have something like a fruit plate or something. I'll also work on having a proper sleep-wake up cycle, hit the gym regularly and work on reducing the stress/anxiety level. I've just started taking Acinil-O (Antacid Antiflatulent & Anaesthetic Suspension), does this do the same work as would pantoprazole do or do i have to switch to pantoprazole ? And also in the 7th point, by "drink" did you mean alcohol or normal drinking water ? Thanks! Vivek

Hi,
You can have acinil-o along with pantoprazole but pantop will have better effects than acinil-o.
Then in 7th point I told about alcohol and not water. Alcohol also causes acidity, specially empty stomach,so you may have alcohol after having some food.
In fact you should have plenty of water which I had missed to tell you.
