GERD. It has been on and off since 2008. The condition worsened last month in Jan 2013 and I could hardly swallow any solid food. It just gets stuck in the throat and feel like I am choking till I push the food down with water. Liquids and semi solid foods are ok. The doctors did Nasal Endoscopy, Normal Gastro Endoscopy, Esopheagal Manometry, Barium Swallow X-Ray and all tests came up normal. I was told the swallowing problem is primarily related to GERD and I was advised Cintapro 1 mg tablet for 1 month. So far as I take the tablet, I am able to take in selected solid foods fine, but not all foods. If I do not take this tablet for one day, the problem recurrs back. Question 1: How long will this motility disorder be related to GERD ? Question 2: Are there any side effects of taking this Cintapro 1 mg to help in motility on a long term basis (Say if I need to take this for some more time) Questionj 3: Are there any other tests that will show the proper reason for this motility disorder of the esophaegus (Apart from Esopheagal Manometry, Gastro Endoscopy, Barium Swallow X-Ray) etc.

GERD will persist but the effect can be decreased by life style modification like good brisk walk for 40 mins, avoiding fat, consuming more curd and buttermilk rather than milk and keeping a gap of 2 hrs between food and sleep. Cintpro is by and large relatively safe drug for long term use till now. We need to see the reports of existing tests before we proceed with further tests Stress has significant role in symptoms so please be relaxed. ...

How long the use of LACTULOSE and SORBITOL is safe , for 3 years baby ? We tried to reduce his dose by 4 ml per day after month but condition get wosed. Please advice us.

Hi, I am sure that the cause for such long constipation can't just be Bonnisan, but there has to be some cause for such long lasting constipation. Ifact that was my first question - hasn't the baby being investigated for the cause of constipation(because you did not mention it anywhere) ? Because drugs like lactulose syrup or sorbitol syrup are just relieving agents(effective for that moment),and they don't treat the disease from inside. The causes can be Hirschsprung’s disease and othe ...

By taking Normaxin every day night after dinner I am getting good results for IBS. How long should I continue ? I am taking since last six months. Should I continue for long term ?

Hi, Normaxin is usually given for gastric ulcer and irritable bowel syndrome and it will act on daily basis only. The prescription is decided from patient to patient. If it is prescribed to you since so long, there should be some reason because usually it is prescribed for lesser period of time - around 1.5-2 months or so, but it all depends on the patient in the end. It does not have any side effects on heart except that it can cause tachycardia(fast heart rate ) and other effects like dry mo ...

my baby age is 32 months, she suffers from cold, cough, mucus and vomtings. doctor suggested grilinctus-cd 4ml twice a day. is it ok for my child and u sugest any side effects and how long we can use this medicine

Hi, Whom did you consult ?(any specialist or any body else) because this cough syrup is usually not recomended in children of this age group as thier can be side effects, avoid giving that cough syrup. As such if there is no fast brething or no indrawing of chest then no treatment is required and this might be a viral infection which will go off and you just have to see that he is not getting dehydrted and you can also give him steam inhalation and if she has nasal congestion then you can put ...

Diet - Diet high in dairy products and high glycemic index foods increases the risk of developing pimples. Washing your face about twice each day - not more often. Make sure you have a mild soap. Use warm water. Wash gently; do not scrub the skin. Use an OTC lotion which contains benzoyl peroxide.
