I was on thyronorm 100 mcg for 1.5 years and got tested for TSH, T3 & t4 with very normal values consistently twice tested in a period of 3 months. Can I stop the medication and maintain health through yoga and fitness or should I continue the medicine? Please help!

Hi, Thyronorm is a tablet which is replacing your thyroid hormone level and even if your levels have come to normal, they are normal due to the drug and not naturally so more or less thyroid hormone replacing drug are life long and leaving the drug will slowly bring you back towards the same hypothyroid levels(you should be taking the drug). By taking Normaxin every day night after dinner I am getting good results for IBS. How long should I continue ? I am taking since last six months. Should I continue for long term ?

Hi, Normaxin is usually given for gastric ulcer and irritable bowel syndrome and it will act on daily basis only. The prescription is decided from patient to patient. If it is prescribed to you since so long, there should be some reason because usually it is prescribed for lesser period of time - around 1.5-2 months or so, but it all depends on the patient in the end. It does not have any side effects on heart except that it can cause tachycardia(fast heart rate ) and other effects like dry mo ...

I have a 22 month old daughter. She is having fever right now. Today's the first day. Fever is around 102 degrees. I have given her Sinarest paeditric drops 1.5ml. Is that the right dosage? Should I continue with that or should I shift to Calpol Paedritic drops (each ml contains Paracetamol IP 100 mg, colour - sunset yellow). What should be the dosage?

Thanks for your query Sinarest drops contain paracetamol for fever and phenylpropalamine for nasal decongestion. If your daughter is not having any nasal symptoms there is no need to give sinarest drops and these should be given only under medical supervision could be harmful.I suggest you to shift to calpol which is more safe for children.Dose is 15mg/kg.If your daughter is 15 kg u may give her 1.5 ml calpol drops every 6 hourly along with sponging with water at room temperature all over the b ...
