i got sonography test which shows lever size enlarged by 3.3cm. later blood test for LFT showed Sl. Done a LFT. Says direct bilirubin is 0.9 mg/dl and indirect is b 0.3. Total bilirubin is 1.2 mg/dl. Is it a problem ? direct bilirubin is high

Hi, Usually the direct billirubin should also have been in the normal range,but if the total is within normal range then you don't need to worry. Do you have problems or color change in stool ? Do you have any kind of itching ? Do you have any pain in abdomen ? How are the other values in lft except for bilirubin ? We can get an ultrasound abdomen and hepatitis markers to be sure that there is not anything or may be repeat the test again,can be an lab error also. ...

my bilirubin (total) is found 0.97 mg/dl, bilirubin direct is found 0.33 mg/dl, SGOT is found 41 iu/l, SGPT is found 80.9 iu/l, alkaline phosphatase is found 101 iu/l & albumin is found 4.2 gm/dl after going through a liver functioning test. I am very much worried about the SGPT count which came abnormal. i do not take regular alcohol, but i do take some medicines like norflox tz or ciprowin tz whenever i came across stomach upsets. Sir, please suggest me what should i do now and shall it be dangerous that the count came abnormal? please help.

Hi, I am not sure,your doctor must have examined you so he can might be telling better,but i belive you should have complet liver tests including pt aptt and coagulation profile and billirubin levels and also repeat the tests you already have. Although yellow eyes can also be due to mddy sclera,some people have muddy sclera. Hello sir, I had a acute pancreas attack near about 4 months back and getting treated at Aig, Hyderabad. Now I am fine, now doctor has prescribed Antoxid medicine only for Two months and Stanlip medicine for lowering Cholesterol level which has increased. Total cholesterol 264mg/dl Hdl 26mg/dl Direct Ldl 40mg/dl Serum Triglyceride 1240mg/dl I am non alcoholic and non smoker and non diabetes,Blood pressure is also normal Can u suggest anything else for lowering cholesterol levels.

Hi, I wanted to check your BMI which is fine , is there any family history of some illness ? if yes you should take more care of your self keeping all the test with in normal limits. even if no that doesnt mean that any thing cant happen , as indians our genes and our daily routine is a little prone for diabetes and raised cholesterol , so nothing we can do with that just follow a good schedule to improve cholesterol levels.
