Thanks for your query
Before commenting on her weight i would like to know her birth weight.A gain of half a kg per month is considered optimal. So if she is gaining half kg per month it is good. Also infant's weight gain is optimal on exclusive breastfeeding till 6 months of age. After 6 months of age we need to start complimentary feeding along with breastfeeds.Freshly prepared home made foodstuffs are preferred over commercial preparations. For first one to two months we should give homemade milk plus fruit based diet semisolid in consistency.By ninth month we can start rice based homemade preparations like rice kheer, khichdi along with milk plus fruit based preparations. We should feed these semisolid foodstuffs 5 to 6 times a day along with 4 to 5 breastfeeds per day.Wheat based foodstuffs like porridge should be introduced last by one year. Also important advise do not bottlefeed your child as she might not develop appetite for semisolid foodstuffs as mentioned above because it is easier for child to bottlefeed than to chew food and milk has a filling effect on stomach.
Take care.
