Hi,
You have asked about mucus in stool.Mucus in stool can appear in increased amount as a result of some infections like amoebiasis, giardiasis, bacterial infections and some non infectious conditions which in short may be clubbed into an illness called irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease or anal fissure.
Since you had been having yellow mucus earlier and now it is white film covering,it appears to be white mucus film only. So if you are having it on a regular basis, it indicates that you have irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease which can be confirmed only after detailed history and examination.
If the cause is one of the above two then you don't need to be alarmed. If there is any other cause, an antibiotic course will become necessary.
Do you have diarrhoea or constipation commonly ?
Do you have anxiety commonly ?
Are stools too hard usually?
You can have a diet composed of more fresh vegetables and fruits.Have plenty of water. Try and avoid excessive fast food, cheese, spices, and milk (if it doesn't suit your bowel)
