PAST HISTORY : Nothng mch..i had hormonal imblnce and i had done all the measure and got over it .. i wanna go to a doctor but i am scared if he will identify tht i had taken an ipill long back..

Dear XYZ
Don't worry, about visiting dentist.
Depending upon your gum condition nobody will judge whether you have taken ipill.
But unfortunately in females hormonal imbalance may lead to excessive gum bleeding. Again the major cause for that is accumulation of plaque or tartar. As the gums bleed; patients are scared of proper brushing and tartar increases in amount.
So, I would suggest you to visit nearby gum specialist and get teeth cleaning.
Also after that follow proper bruising technique with soft bristle brush and gum massage.

gum bleeding can be due to various reasons Localor systemic ,mailnly due to accumulation of calculus,So visit a dentist and do tooth cleaning and dont worry about taking pills.

Dear Amber333,
First of all... why you dont want the doctor to find out that you had taken the Oral Contraceptive and that too 8 months ago? In fact; we, as Doctors, are supposed to ask in detail about the medical history of the patient.
Secondly, I agree with Dr. Parag about the vicious cycle of Hormonal Imbalance -> Bleeding Gums -> Avoiding Brushing -> Further deposition of plaque and tartar -> More bleeding.... and so on.
So I would also suggest consulting a Dental Surgeon nearby at your earliest.

dear amber
your complaint is about heavy bleeding during PERIODS-therefore u need to consult a gynaecologist.
you can also consult an endocrinologist.
a dentist will be of help,if you have bleeding from mouth [eg. like bleeding while brushing your teeth]
and yes your doctor will come to know about ipill only if you tell her/him.

You need not panic. Go to your dentist, preferably tell him/her everything, but for whatever reasons you feel the need to hide the information, let him/her examine. In case he/she finds gum disease, he/she will advise oral prophylaxis & some medicines. Follow his/her instructions & you will be fine. In case he/she cannot find any gum disease, then your history would be very important for him/her to know to reach at the correct diagnosis. All the best

I presume your question is about heavy menstrual bleeding during periods and not gum bleeding. In that case you will need to share more information like whether you have noticed the heavy bleed only this month or continuously over the last 8 mths, have you used any alternative methods of contraception, whether the intercourse you had 8 mths back was one-off or you have had a similar continued relationship since, is the bleeding associated with increased pain or cramps, and whether there have been any lifestyle changes leading to increased physical activity (like gymming) in the last few mths or since the time you noticed the excessive bleed?
