Dear Patient, The white or slight yellow strand of tissue you see at the extraction site must be what is known as 'slough' and it is normal part of the healing process hence you need not worry. You are aware that smoking causes lot of health conditions detrimental to personal health and others[Passive Smokers]. Try to Quit this habit as many aids are available. This is agood excuse to quit in your favour, but if adamant 3-5 days are enough.

The tissue tag should resolve in 7-14 days max. rinse with warm water (mix in salt) 3-5 times a day to help keep the wound clean. smoking is a personal choice. IF you truly have NOT smoked post extraction you may start now.
