Hi,
You told me that your father is having hallucinations(he sees what is not there actually),these are commonly seen due to hyperosmolar, hyperglycemic , nonketotic syndromes.
The cause of hallucination is usually rapid rise in blood sugar.(the cause might be some exisiting infection in body). I have never heard of hallucination due to electrolyte imbalance, however you may get it checked as(electrolyte imbalance) definitely can cause confusion.
Rest if he has very high blood sugar, dehydrat ... Read Full Answer
Hi, I have a severely cut tongue and I have developed black spots. It's hurts and I can't eat anything that has chilli or spices. It gets red and inflamed. What am I dealing with. Please help
Doctor's Answer
Hi,
A sore tongue is a source of discomfort in speaking, eating and it draws your attention all the time. A severe cut is definitely going to hurt a lot specially with chillies, spices and hot food.

Hi Puneet,
Every time i eat something i have this inflammatory sensation in my throat that's kind of very uncomfortable. I cannot eat spicy food at all these days. Every time i eat junk food like burgers or Pizza or KFC, i end up having problem with my stomach (stomach upset mostly).
This problem started since 2010 when i was doing night shifts for my company. There was a time when i did graveyard shift for 3 consecutive weeks. I stopped doing night shifts after i had problems with my stomach.
I have a very tough time in finding food of my taste here. I generally prefer salads and bland food. Fruits rich in alkaline level tend to help me a lot.
I'm not married yet, so its very difficult for me to find such food everywhere especially at my workplace.
I consume alcohol every weekend but next day morning i end up having acidity.
So i have to take ENO (fruit salt) to feel better. This has been the case since 3 years now.
The only food which suits me is Bland food and fruits (especially the ones rich in alkaline level).
I would really appreciate your help with this.
Thanks!
Doctor's Answer
Hi,
You can have acinil-o along with pantoprazole but pantop will have better effects than acinil-o.
Then in 7th point I told about alcohol and not water. Alcohol also causes acidity, specially empty stomach,so you may have alcohol after having some food.
In fact you should have plenty of water which I had missed to tell you.
Feel free to ask further question. ... Read Full Answer

His teeth are sore and he cant drink eat or swallow much. His gums are red and swollen and bleed if we try to brush his teeth or he eat anything hard or crunchy. The doctor gave us amoxicillin but didnt diagnose anything and his mouth is still red and swollen, 6th day. The blister on his lip did not turn in to a coldsore. Its like an ulcer now that it has popped.
Doctor's Answer
Hi,
As per your description and keeping in account the age of your dear son, it looks mostly a primary herpetic gingivostomatitis to me.
Give more of supportive treatment like ice chips and some coating agent for ulcers like kaolin pectin.
Take care and visit any Oral Physician
