Hi, I had been diagionsed to have Pilonidal Sinus - abscess formation and was told to undergo a minor surgery. As of now he had prescribed antibotics to avoid any further infection. Request you to advise me on whether can i get better off from this with medication without any surgery.

I have some internal puss formation on my inner thigh area at the junction with the testicle balls. This may have been due to bacteria due to V-shaped underwears. I applied Quadriderm lotion but not to much use. Pleae suggest some capsules or tablets for the same. There is no external visibility of red sign or blister on the pus, just accumulation beneath the skin.

Hi, An antibiotic can be prescribed, but not without looking at your illness. What is it actually which you are saying it to be pus, needs to be looked into. I would also advice you to go to a doctor in emergency as soon as possible, this may be serious. ...

Hi, I am not sure,your doctor must have examined you so he can might be telling better,but i belive you should have complet liver tests including pt aptt and coagulation profile and billirubin levels and also repeat the tests you already have. Although yellow eyes can also be due to mddy sclera,some people have muddy sclera. Your tsh is also raised so he might be telling you for some test or may be you could be directly be put on medicines for this. Time taken is different for diffirent person ...

She took all blood test for TB but they were all negative, so doctor advised for biopsy and they removed the entire Fibula, It was after surgery the pus formation started and the foot is taking time to heal. It almost 3 months, she is getting married, so wanted to check, if she goes to her dietician can she lose weight during the course of AKT4 and how long will it take for her foot to recover.

Better to diagnose the infection by culture and sensitivity including sensitivity for fungus. There less possibility of loosing weight while on AKT. ...

Sir, Your sister might be suffering from TB osteomyelitis . A course of ATT for 6 to 9 months is sufficient for treatment. She can lose weight during this course. Daily dressing will also help in quick healing of foot . Feel free to ask any questions. ...

Hi, im 36, female, breastfeeding my 8 mos old baby. i have a history of acute pyelonephritis on 2006. Now i think its the same problem suffered from fever, chill, nausea for 3 days... i started to take cotrimoxazole in 3 days but switched to norfloxcin 400 mg but didnt let my baby feed on my breast. I had my urinalysis after 4 days. Result says my wbc/hpf is 8 to 14, mucous thread +, rbc/hpf is 1 - 3, ep cells +, crystals amophous phospates +. My question is what i the interpretation of my result? Should i continue norloxacin 400 mg? How many days 7 or up to 10 days? When can i let my baby breastfeed again? Thank you... --_Anna-

Switching from one antibiotic to another without finishing the course is not a good idea. Norfloxacin 400 should be taken twice daily for 5 days. You can breast feed your baby. But you must get your urine test for culture and sensitivity done immediately. ...

I had fracture of the fifth metatarsal in my right foot three months ago. My ortho surgeon advised me to wear an Aircast short boot. I wore it for more than two months. After my 3rd xray showed more callus formation, he allowed me to remove it already and just wear shoes with flat hard sole. The x ray result stated that there is more callus formation. Demineralization of bones is appreciated. What does it mean that demineration is APPRECIATED? Is this positive? Thank you.
