what to feed infants with dysentery .my daughter who is bottle fed has dysentery she is about 4 months and 23days . pls advice

Hi, It has been seen in our practice that bottle feeding no, how hygienically you give it, can lead to infections in infants. And only breastfeeding is safe till infant is 6 months of age.So try to give more of breastfeeds to the infant if possible. If complete breastfeeds are not feasible then please give undiluted pasteurized cow's milk by cup and spoon to the child.Any solid feeds are not recommended till 6 months of age.And since dysentery is always infective don't forget to give an anti ...

My Kid is 9 months old but she is underweight by 3 Kgs. Her current weight is 5.9 but she is active!!! As of now, we are giving Similac Stage 2 but her consumption is very very less. We have checked with our Doctors in India but Doctors are forcing us to feed her but she is not at all interested.. Can you please suggest any other solution to increase her appetite.

Thanks for your query Before commenting on her weight i would like to know her birth weight.A gain of half a kg per month is considered optimal. So if she is gaining half kg per month it is good. Also infant's weight gain is optimal on exclusive breastfeeding till 6 months of age. After 6 months of age we need to start complimentary feeding along with breastfeeds.Freshly prepared home made foodstuffs are preferred over commercial preparations. For first one to two months we should give homemade milk ...

My baby s 1month and 5 days old. She has gas trouble and cries entire night. My doc has suggested to give domstal 0.8ml every 6hours once either before half an hour of feed and after 2 hours of feed, but i understand dat domstal is for vomiting but my baby doesn't vomit much,it is very rare. Please suggest whether i should continue giving her domstal or Colicaid. If both can be given then in what intervals and is it safe to give both. And my baby doesn't wait for half an hour after giving domstal, she cries for feed

Domstal may be given for other causes than vomiting, such as for regulation of gut motility, which may lead to a 'gassy' state. That is why your doctor has prescribed domstal. Colicaid is meant for relief of colic. Both may be given together. Give domstal before feeds, preferably 30 mins, but a 1 month old will mostly not give you that time, he is always hungry! Never mind. ...

Do not force feed your baby. Give him 3-4 meals a day. Try home based food like khichri (rice and dal), boiled and mashed vegetable, boiled egg, solid fruits like banana, papaya, apple, Dahi etc. Make the food tasty. Even if he takes small amounts of different types of food, it will be enough for him. Continue to breast feed. ...
