PAST HISTORY : Baby is exclusively being bottle fed due to lactose/Milk protien intolerance. He was on IV antibitics 3 times in his first 1-4 months due to milk allergy.

First of all we need to exclude lower respiratory tract infection which may include pneumonia or bronchiolitis.Take your child to a paediatrician for clinical examination.U mentioned your child was on antibiotics 3 times in last 4 months.Was it due to lactose intolerance only leading to loose motions or for some other illness also ??
Has exclusive bottle feeding advised to you by a paediatrician after diagnosis of lactose intolerance or the child was bottle fed since birth ?? Please also specify which milk formula are you giving to your child.Let me inform you that feeding milk by bottles is an open invitation to all sorts of infections including diarrhoea,cough and cold,ear infections etc.So even if you are giving artificial milk for whatever reason please feed the baby by cup and spoon made of steel.As far as these cough and cold medicines are concerned these are safe for the baby if given in proper doses under medical supervision.If your baby develops danger signs like fast breathing,chest in-drawing take him to hospital immediately.
