My child is normal. However she was suffering from cough and so we consulted doctor who has prescribed Ambrodil S Syrup. She is 10 months old. When searching for this medicine on internet I got teh information on baby center that medicine is banned in US for kids under 6 years. Kindly let us know what to do?

Baby is suffering from cold and more importantly cough since past 2 days. Doctor has prescribed T-minic drops 0.5 ml oral for 3 days and post to which cough didnot subside, then to use Kufril drops 0.5 ml thrice a day. However on using first instance of T-minic baby had pooped 4 times (Can be because he was on antibiotics just a week back for ear infection. His stools were more in number atleast twice after every feed. But once medicnes are stopped his stools were back to normal and he poops only once a day). and also his cough has increased very much. His feeding routine got slightly distrubed as he is not able to complete the bottle with ease. He leaves an ounce or so sometimes due to stuffy nose or congestion. Are these medications safe for a 5 month old baby? if not what precautions to be taken to soothe him from cough and cold?

First of all we need to exclude lower respiratory tract infection which may include pneumonia or bronchiolitis.Take your child to a paediatrician for clinical examination.U mentioned your child was on antibiotics 3 times in last 4 months.Was it due to lactose intolerance only leading to loose motions or for some other illness also ?? Hi, I am Satish Aggarwal (58 years old). I have been suffering from Diabetes since last 5 years. I was taking Tribet-2 (Abbott) till last month (one tablet in morning and one in evening). My sugar levels were around 170 (in random) while taking it. Last month I read in newspapers about side effect of Tribet-2 and my doctor advised me to switch to Diamicron XR MEX 500 (2 tablets in morning). While taking it my sugar levels have been around 240 (in random). Now I have just heard that there is some clarification from Tribet-2 that it is safe. My doctor has asked me to move back to Tribet-2. My query is that is Tribet-2 really safe ? and should I move back to it again ? Thanks, Satish

Hi, Yes this is true that tribet 2 is back in market, but they have allowed it with safety precautions written on the pack like its prone to cause bladder cancer. Our baby is 7weeks old.One day we sow on our baby buttom these blue marks,we call to the hospital straightaway,they ask us to bring her to the hospital.These bruises a really large on both buttocks,we never harm our baby.After few hours me and my husband were arrested for child cruelty,now its been 4weeks and our baby is in foster care while they do investigation.Its heart breaking,we have no idea how these bruises emerged in the first place,could it be these birth marks that everyone is talking about?but she is white skin,we both from eastern europe.Police took her infant baby bath,cous we told them it my be cous of the bath.Any advise or anything that could help us please?we try to get help for her and look whats happend,i never imagen in a million years they can do this.thanks

Hello, I'm really sorry to hear about what happened. Well babies often have spots known as Mongolian Spots on the lower back and buttocks. These spots are usually present at birth but can develop even afterwards in the first week of life. These spots are harmless and disappear over a few months to years and no treatment is required.
