Hello i had my no 48 wisdom tooth removed on thursday morning and its been nearly 3 days now. What i wanted to know was i have noticed yesterday and today that the gum which had folded over the extraction site has receeded and left behind a thin white strand of tissue. is this a normal part of the healing process. I am not in any pain and have not smoked since the day of extraction (before). Also i know your advice will be to stop permanently but how long should i wait till i can smoke again

I have conjunctivitis and have double knee replacement scheduled in about 18 days. Could this cause a problem with developing an infection in my knee replacement site?

I had a top molar removed 5 days ago, I had to get stitches as it was a surgical extraction and I am on antibiotics. However I am still in bad pain and the extraction site is extremely tender with mouth ulcers around it, also the area over the gum is yellow coloured! Is this normal?

yellowness over the site of healing might be normal. you might have developed dry socket that is paining or the ulcers might give you pain. dont worry it ll heal soon. or u sud consult the dentist. ...

Ok, I believe I have read or am understanding from reading on the internet that 3 days after a right femur angiogram that it is possibly a subcuteneous hematoma. See 3 days after my angiogram my right testcle is very tender and sore and the area from the testicle to slighly lower the angiogram injection site. I have a little bruising on the lower part of my penis to the right part of the scrotum. Could this be a hematoma or just accidental damage due to the 30 min press they use after tge surgery to make aure the femur doesnt bleed? This evening i also got a tight constricting feeling on my left femur artery in my left thigh. I have been recently diagnoised with heart failure and no blockage, but with an ef of 12%. I'm a 45 year old male. I need to make a follow up appt anyway so i guess tomorrow I will do that and discuss my syptoms to my Cardiologist. Thanks Craig

i had a perianal abscess operation around 5 weeks back. I have been off antibiotics and the regular dressings for around 10 days. However, I still have pain around that area as well as regular little discharge of pus from the wound. . The histopathology report mentioned the following: Nature of Material received: Left perineal abscess wall Gross description: Received a single greyish brown congested irregular ring 1.7 x 1.5 x 1 cm Microscopic description: Biopsy shows fibrosis in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue. One of the fragments shows a sinus tract with a foreign body type granuloma The discharge summary was as follows: Diagnosis Left perianal abscess + Left middle finger abscess Presenting Complaints: Left perianal abscess + Left middle finger abscess incision and drainage Patient had fever since 3-4 days Condition on admission: O/E-GC: T: Afebrile at admission P: 80/min RR: 20/min BP: 120/80 mmHg Pain + S/E: CVS: NAD RS: NAD P/A: NAD Treatment given during hospitalization: Inj. Hi, If you still have pain and pus discharge around that area then , either the infection is there again because it was not cleared properly( the pus drainage was not done properly ) or either it might have formed again because you might be having some co exsistent problem which probably went un diagnosed . hi bobby, your perianal abscess surgery would take atleast 2-3 weeks to heal and slowly the soreness and pain will come down day by day as the wound heals. regular dressings especially after motions is the key to successful healing. The very fact that your pus c/s report mentions E.coli, I just want to make you aware that these bacteria are from the large intestine. The basic question is from where did the bacteria get into the perianal area?? the answer is that there is a small hole in the anus ...

I had a pacemaker put in Feb. 6, 2013. I am now experiencing a lot of pain & swelling at the site. Is this normal? I can hardly move my arm on that side & the pacemaker is really bulging out.

No, it is not normal, there can be inflammation of the tissue where pacemaker is implanted, so immediate visit to cardiologist is necessary he/she to check your condition.
