Hi Andy
What is your age ?
A small varicocele with normal semen reports is usually benign
Why did the Doc ask you to take antibiotics and that too for three months ? Is there any infection in the urine of are the blood counts raised
In any situation it will be a short term antibiotic
For discomfort use a Scrotal Hike to support your testes and avoid bicycle if you are riding one
Hope this helps

Hello Andy,
I agree that a small varicocoele is usually benign but if it is giving u discomfort in the inguino-scrotal region then it is better u show in person a Surgeon to take a call on either Conservative management Vs Surgery.
You havent mentioned the grade of varicocoele.
Also not all varicocoeles will have altered semen reports, so if ur semen report is normal thats good but Varicocoele is treated not always as a part of Male Infertility/ altered semen report. It is treated also for the the discomfort in inguinoscrotal region if clinically and radiologically it is significant
Hope ur query is answered

Hi Andy,
Varicocele is a benign condition and is correctable, there is no need for antibiotics as it does not help it.A pain in the scrotum means the condition could have progressed or you might have a testicular infection-orchitis. Please get yourself a scrotal scan and urine culture based on this we can be able to help you further. Stop worrying and good luck Andy

varicocele if small usually gives no problems just needs observation and no specific treatment.
