I have had this white strip across the side of my tongue for the past 3 weeks or so. Recently I had researched what it could possibly be and have narrowed it down to leukoplakia and oral thrush. It does not hurt when I eat or hurt at all. I started taking vyvance because of ADD about a month ago and doing so made me start to bite my tongue and gums. I had stopped doing so once I noticed the white strip but it has not healed. I also get little tiny sores on and off on my tongue that look almost like little white taste buds and get irritated very easily. But I just would like to know if it is just a raw spot tongue or leukoplakia because I have used a few tobacco products in past. nothing that lasted more than a month or two of use. I am not even 20 yet and the thought of cancer is terrifying me. Any thoughts on what it could be?Thank you.

Hi John,
First of all don't be tensed and quit the habit of using any tobacco product ( if you are having the habit now)
Please tell us about that white strip in detail?
Is it present on both the sides of tongue? Is it scrapable ?
How long is the strip.. I mean to say is it present from tip to back or just at back side?
Do you feel any burning sensation in that area?
It would be better if we could get a clinical picture of that.
Those tiny sores what you are describing... do they appear only on sides or the upper surface of tongue.
Did you recently had any change in your routinely used oral products like toothpaste / mouthwash ?
Based on your medical history, mostly it could be frictional keratosis. Other things I can comment if you answer my queries.
Better if you visit some Oral Physician and get it checked.

No, I have not changed anything recently. The white strip is only on the right side of my tongue and is not scrapable. The strip goes from almost to the tip to almost to the back. In length it is about 2 to 2.5 inches. I rarely, if ever get burning sensation on my tongue. Tonight it burned alittle but i feel it was only because i was worried and I let my kind get the best of me.The sores are hard to explain, the have occurred from the tip of my tongue to the side where it is now. Which is the left side. Here are 2 photos. One is the strip, the other is what this sore now looks like.

You are already aware of the oral condition. Also i would like to know that there is no systemic disorder like history of stomach upsets etc... This can be abalated with the help of surgical diode lasers along with some antioxidants.

My left wisdom tooth has been growing in side ways, but has not been able to come in fully. It started hurting about two days ago. I did not think anything of it and thought it was just growing in more. There was a flap of skin/gum covering part of the tooth. When I went to brush my teeth this morning, I noticed that part of it (underneath where the skin covered before) was now a blackish color. I got a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes only on the left side of my throat around the same time my tooth started hurting. Are these related? I have a dentist appointment in a week. Is there anything I can do to help it to make it better or ease the pain? It hurts to chew on that side of my mouth and it hurts when I swallow. Will my tooth be okay until I get to the dentist and what will be done by the dentist? Do you think my tooth is infected? Will I have to take antibiotics?

My gums have been bleeding on my lower front four teeth for the past couple of days. Now I have started using listerine, it seemed to be working but now I have white soft scabs appearing where the gums were bleeding. I thought it was bacteria but every time I clean them off the gums it starts bleeding again. Any advice on what I should do?

Dear Sir/Madam, I have had intercourse with my boyfriend 5 months back and had abortion pills by consulting a Doctor online. The only blood test that can show whether you are pregnant or the previous abortion was an incomplete one is a serum beta hcg -this checks the hormone for pregnancy in the blood.If less than 5 ,then pregnancy is negative. Sir i am suffering from knee sweeling in my rt knee for 6 month,two times i hv removed water(aspiration) from it bt never found relief.some time it decrease and some time increase.all tests x rays,crp,esr are normal not yet i found any relief.4 years ago same problem were in my lft knee and dr. Removed 2 pieces(tissue) from lft knee which were found normal(non specific),till one month after surgery i couldn't bent knee even a little bit,i took physiotherapy by wax and till 9 months i could bent it onle 80% after 1.5 or 2 year i could bent it properly 100 bt with pain,still there is pain when i bent it proper,and also swelling in rt knee.Dr.'s Of hospital in which i get surgery 4 yrs ago said that same surgery will pass in rt knee,bt i am afraid because still there is pain in my lft knee,if i pass again surgery in rt knee i will face same problem of pain in my rt knee,please advice me sir if there another way to get treated without surgery like med. About 5 years ago I noticed a dramatic reduction of the muscle mass (Muscle atrophy) in my right calf muscle, like 75% to 80% reduction compared to my Left calf Muscle (possible the gastrocnemius), I also noticed that my Achilles is also very loose, when in a relaxed state, compared to the left leg. What could be the possible problems? There is no pain (other than uneasiness like restless leg syndrome) associated with this problem. I do have a lower back problem (damage) that was done 30 years ago to the L4/L5 herniated disk. Now I have noticed that other muscles are starting to harden and reduce like the one did 5 years ago. I went on a 15 mile hike in the mountains this past summer and I am very active during the day. However I do not regularly exercise as I should. Thoughts?
