Hi there, from your description it seems that you don’t need to undergo dilatation and curettage. But you should be examined by an OB-Gyn togethher with our ultrasound result to check also the bilateral ovarian cysts that are being described in your ultrasound.

Hi, As you told me your history about sex with your husband and about your periods, it is very difficult that you got pregnant because the maximum life of a sperm inside the female genitalia is maximum of 7 days which happen during ovulation time. Although the time when you had sex was in an unsafe time (the time you could have got pregnant) and you already had your period after that twice, it is extremely rare that you might have been pregnant. Hi! Yesterday, I went to see my dentist for tooth extraction and currently taking antibiotics and mefenamic acid for 7 days. Next week, on Wednesday, I'm going to undergo blood testing, urinalysis and fecalysis. Question, is it okay to undergo these procedures even though I'm taking medicines? I'm so busy and Wednesday is the only day I'm available. Plus, clinics are closed on Christmas holiday. Please help me. Thanks!

Medicines do alter the routine blood analysis results. But if your dentist has asked for it, then it might have been for some specific reason. just inform the laboratory that you are on antibiotics to prevent any wrong interpretation. Dental Extractions will not much time. I am sure you can spare a few minutes for it. ...

My husband was recently diagnosed with a thoracic aortic dilation of 4.2 during a preop echocardiogram. Cat scan was also done. No evidence of dissection. He is having bilateral knee replacement on January 17. His cardiologist has cleared him for surgery for both knees. Should we be getting a second opinion. I should mention he is 67 years old, no evidence of heart blockages, no diabetes.

My wife had a HSG Test done w/ x-rays 4 days ago. Last night she was complaining about a sharp pain in the lower left quadrant of her lower abdomen. She said it was very painful and was not going away or becoming less intense. By the time for today came, she was complaining about the pain, it being 5/5 at times. She described this pain as a sharp stabbing constant pain. However, now the pain is radiating around the lower left of her abdomen to her lower left back. The area is very tender and the pain spikes even when slightly pushed on in both the areas, abdomen and lower back. Is this a common side-effect of having the HSG Test? Especially if both of her tubes are blocked and she has been diagnosed with Endometriosis. Please help me figure this out so I know whether or not she needs to be seen at a hospital.

  Doctor's Answer

Hi, By telling that she also has fever, one thing is confirmed that she has an infection. Now if she has problem in her micturition too then either the infection is in her urinary tract or the pelvis which will have to be seen first and then an antibiotic can be started. So you have to consult your doctor now. Feel free to ask further question. ...

my wife is suffering from uterine fibroid with prominent left falopian tube as found in sonography done recently.the report is as follows : uterus appears mildly bulky and appx measures 8.4 x 5.2 x 4.4 cms. .it appears slightly globular in shape. it shows inhomogeneous parenchymal echotexture. there is relatively well defined iso-hypoechoic intramural fibroid of appx size 3.7 x3.5 x 2.7 cms seen in posterior myometrium.no obvious degenerating areas or vascularity noted. this lesion is in close proximity to the endometrial stripe.it appears to cause displacement and mild distorsion of the adjacent endometrial stripe.endometrial thickness is appx 6mm .the left falopian tube appears prominent (10-11mm). no other obvious focal lesion seen in the uterus. So, pl. suggest probable treatments. How can she get rid of uterine fibroids?
