Can I use 500mg clarithromycin for tooth infection

Clarithromycin is the drug derived from Erythromycin; which are generally used for throat infection.
Clarithromycin is a higher Antibiotic; which can be suggested by a dentist in case of severe infection or an alternative to penicillin for patient who are allergic to penicillin.
Instead of Clarithromycin, there are other antibiotics available, which are more preferred for tooth infection by a dentist in terms of its side effect or adverse reaction.
Henceforth it is suggested to consult a Dentist before having any medication for tooth infection.

Have gum pocket infection left lower side molar. Taking clyndamycin 300 mg. every eight hrs.. Tooth is healthy. Never had a filling. Have been on clyndamycin now for 10 days and it does not seem to be helping.

Hello i had my no 48 wisdom tooth removed on thursday morning and its been nearly 3 days now. What i wanted to know was i have noticed yesterday and today that the gum which had folded over the extraction site has receeded and left behind a thin white strand of tissue. is this a normal part of the healing process. I am not in any pain and have not smoked since the day of extraction (before). Also i know your advice will be to stop permanently but how long should i wait till i can smoke again
