I have had a metalic taste in my mouth for a few weeks. Medical conditions: I am going through menopause, so am taking HRT. The odd taste came approximately the same time I increased my Estrace dose from 0.5mg q hs to 0.75. I also take prometrium as well as 50mcg of Synthroid, which I take in the morning. Last night, the metalic taste, which now seems like a copper taste, was so intense I felt like I had electicity in my mouth. I have very good dental hygeine and was recently in for a check up so I have ruled out anything dental. thanks, Paige

I am post menopausal (for 4 years). 2 weeks ago, after ONLY urinating, and only wiping the front, there has been a ~2-inch gob of brown goo on the toilet paper. My doctor sent me to the ER in the event is was stool - I had a rectocele repair 2 years ago. It was not stool. ER referred me to an OB-GYN who examined me and did a biopsy and said everything looked normal. Then it happened again last night. It smells bad, so I had presumed it was stool, but obviously it is not. I am also having cramps (for the past 3-4 months) which I've mentioned to my primary care doctor. Is this anything to be concerned about or just normal post-menopause junk coming out? Thank you.

hi, considering you had undergone a rectocele repair 2 years ago, there are high chances that this discharge me be stool unless proved otherwise. This may come due to a condition called Recto-vaginal fistula. You need to send the discharge coming out from the vagina for 'Culture and Antibiotic Sensitivity' testing. I just turned 57 yrs old. I had periods until Sept 2012 with spotting each month through Dec 2012 then nothing until October 2013, had a light period that lasted about a week, cramps, tender breasts etc. Had spotting this month Nov 2013 also with tender breasts. Had hot flashes while I wasn't having periods but those went away since I started having periods again. I also was having huge amounts of cervical mucous that strands all the way into the toilet at times. I was checked a couple years ago and the Dr noted the large amount of clear mucous but no ideas. The huge amount of mucous is back. Is this normal? I know I'm a late peri-menopause. I do carry too much belly fat and was wondering if I might have PCOS or something? Any certain tests that should be done?

Dear Ma’am, My mother has been suffering bleeding of menopause & uterus is bulky. Uterus measures = 9.2 X 5.1 X 4.4 Cms. Endometrial thickness = 8.2 mm Cervix is normal Ovaries = Both ovaries are normal size. Then doctor diagnosis Histopathological 1) Endometrial sample D/C = Report is No evidence of endometritis granuloma, hyperplasia or neoplasia noted 2) Cervical punch biopsy = Report is no dysplasia or malignancy. 3) All blood test is normal Right now my mother as well. No bleeding no other problem. But Doctor advise to release her Uterus. So as of now what can I do for it. Please give me a good suggestion in this regards.

Since the endometrial sampling and cervical punch biopsy did not show any problem and bleeding has already stopped (without any medication), hysterectomy (removal of uterus) can be postponed, unless your gynecologist has other reason to pursue with the removal of the uterus. ...
