Dear Doctor, Please help me to control my diabetes. I am a dibetic patient about 17 years and under insulin for the past 5 years. Before five years I underwent CABG surgery. My need for consultation is for Diabetes. Now i take Metformin 500 SR/Diapride 2mg and 30/70 fast acting Insulin 18 in the morning and night time I take diapride 2mg and Insulin 8 points only. My HbA1c is 7.9 and always PP is above 200 to 240 Today fasting is 121 and PP is 234.Please advice.

If you have already not changed them or if you are not serious about them because they are the only steps which would help you the most. Drugs just bring down sugar for a few hours and then would raise back again and your body can become slowly resistant to the same drug dose so first you will have to bring lifestyle modification(changes) in yourself. 1)Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, ...

My father aged 78 years is stroke patient for last 5 years. Presently he is on catheter(Urology). Presently i feel because of this catheter he has contracted infection. I am giving him CIPLOX-500 MG for past one day. I hope the infection subsides. If any other medicine(available in India) or care i can take so that he does not get infection.

Indwelling catheter is a risk factor for UTI. But better to get urine culture and sensitivity before starting on antibiotics. As you had already started on antibiotics continue it for a total duration of 7 days, repeat urine for pus cells & if it is decreased then it is fine. otherwise need to check cultures 48 hours after stopping antibiotics ...

Hi Doc. I am 7 weeks pregnant. I usually had 28 days regular periods ever since. Never a delay or pain. As I'm aborting the baby using mifeprex and misoprostol I need to know whether it will affect my other organs and fertility in the long run. I'm 29.5 yrs old. This is my second abortion in last 6 months. I conceived first on November 2016. After the termination of pregnancy I was detected with a small kidney stone. Moreover in 6 months I went through major issues of deficiency of vitamin d, ferratin, folate. My weight reduced from 48 to 42 kg by Feb 2017. I was trying to get them recovered and I became pregnant by June 21. I did consult three doctors but I couldn't get a satisfactory answer. I went through lft, kft, thyroid, blood count and all were normal. My heamoglobin is 12.7. it was 13.7 after my first abortion. It deceased post abortion once kidney stone was detected. On top of this I've severe mood disorder and insomania since childhood. So I've been advised to take tryptomer since I was 22 yrs. I need to take it every two three months to restore my sleep balance. I'm a regular workout person and yoga practitioner as well as into weight training. However after all these I went through my body has become weak and I'm not able to workout much. Appetite is lost or so much that I don't know what to eat or what not. Stomach infections became common. After every test and doctors consultation I still need some more answers and clarification/ clarity to my body conditions. Further what precautions I must take. It would be really helpful. Thank you

Hi, Your concern seems multidisciplinary. This needs your utmost patience.First and foremost you can consult a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, You can also seek a consultation with an Internist (endocrinologist) regarding your condition, specifically the weight loss, easy fatiguability and loss of appetite.Kidney stones can be managed by nephrologist. ...

Hello Sir,My father is now 72 yrs. of age.He is on 'Olmesartan medoxomil40mg' in morning and 'Metoprolol Succinate 25 mg' with 'Amlodipine 2.5 mg' in a combination in the evening for the last 3+ yrs.,and his hypertension was in control (avg. 130/85). Previously he was on only on 'Amlodipine besylate 5 mg' once a day for the last 10+ yrs.( before he started the above-mentioned medication 3 yrs. back as per his doctor's advise but when the peripheral edema and a little-bit face swelling started, and the B.P could not controlled with plain Amlodipine 5 mg,doctor advised the above-mentioned medication after closely monitoring ECG and related tests).Till last six month the B.P was in control(avg. 135/82)without any remarkable side effect except 'back of palm' & 'foot skin rash' which he had for more than last 10+ yrs. and being treated separately with skin cream (clobetasol, miconazole, gentamycin combination in S.O.S-basis with citicoline skin cream when it is too necessary to moist the skin)- but suddenly the B.P is constant on an avg. 145/92 without any major health related complain from patient except sudden-started oedema in left foot skin and left tibea-febula skin for the last 10 days, and the doctor is now suddenly not willing to further new prescription and advised 2nd consultation with another doctor. Now I'm worried what to do exactly, last 3 days I tried only Amlodipine 5 mg in evening and olmesartan 40 mg in morning and B.P is now 140/82 in an avg. for the last 3 days. Please advise me what should I do now? Expecting your kind opinion at your earliest to rule out the problem and the solution for the same. Thank you very much Sir.
