let me first apologise for the delay in the reply.. i was on a medical tour and had no access to the internet. usually pulsatile tinnitus is pathological.. due to tumours or vascular loops or simply due to increased blood circulation. i don't think there's any relation to head congestion unless its related to hypertension and tinnitus.

Hi Woodhurst, can you explain a bit more as to what do you mean by Head Congestion.?
Tinnitus as such is something that needs lot of investigation to know the exact cause and still many times patient lives with it...but pulsatile tinnitus can be managed..so let me know if MRI has been done?

Pulsatile tinnitus can be caused by any vascular pathology eg tumours, vascular loops, hypertension and also due to increased blood flow due to ENT inflammation. So if you are having nasal congestion, headache etc you may also have an associated ear inflammation causing tinnitus...
