Hi Sir, My wife is on TB medication (AKT3) for last 8 months. During this time is it safe to use emergency contraceptive pill (like i-Pill) if due to some reason regular birth control method fails. thanks.

Hi, There are no harms to take i-pill(no reaction),but the t.b medicines reduces the efficacy of emergency contraceptive and the dose of i-pill might be needed to be repeated depending on how patient profile. Repeat dose of i-pill might be recommended,but only after prescription,as repeat dose may also cause excessive bleeding so don't prescribe to self. I am 7 weeks pregnant and have taken meprate 10 mg for 5 days thrice daily thinking I am suffering from PCOS. I didn't have my periods since nov'12. I did an ultrasound and everything is normal in that. I didn't got bleeding as well since I was pregnant. I am hearing mixed opinions about side effects of meprate on foetus. Can you suggest, can I go ahead with my pregnancy, is there an complications attached...

Hi!! Meprate ( medroxyprogesterome acetate) is safe if taken accidentally in pregnancy.It is norethindrone( norethisterone ) that has harmful effects of genital organs of the female fetus. Also,fetal genital organs are affected between 7-9 weeks of pregnancy. There is no method to know that fetus does not have any congenital malformations.Even ultrasound cannot pick up many congenital malformations which may be due to various reasons ...

I just recovered from kidney stones and had a stent taken out for it. A week later, I had unprotected sex and took the plan b pill, Next Choice. The next day my kidneys started to hurt again. I also have a seizure disorder and seized the night I took the pill. Can any of this be related?

Hello, I am 7 weeks pregnant and i was given susten 400 some days ago as i had started spotting. Its been 17days now since i started inserting the pill in my vagina. My question is, is it safe to have sex while on this pill and if so should i insert it before or after sex?

Hi Doctor I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend just on the verge of her periods(It was 5th day of her periods, or the periods ended, her cycle is normally 28 days). After that, she took Postpone 72 and then again had unprotected sex on next day, after almost 24 hours. Now, it has been almost 10 days since she took the pill but still did not get Withdrawal Bleeding. What are her chances of getting pregnant and why there is not Withdrawal Bleeding so far?(What is the effective time of Postpone 72, if sex is done after taking the pill as well)

Hello there, With the histpry you presented to me, there is a little chance that you are pregnant. Withdrawal bleeding probably did not hapen because by the time you took postpone, it is still very early in the menstrual cycle, so endometrium still must be very thin so bleeding is not possible. The best time to take the Postpone 72 is the earliest possible after sexual intercourse. ...
