Hi, can prolonged use of Diprovate and Lobate cause skin boils? What about withdrawal of Pregabalin/Lyrica, please?

Hello,

Well prolonged use of steroid creams can cause Acne like bumps but generally not true skin boils. And no withdrawal of Pregabalin/Lyrica doesn't either. Boils are a bacterial skin infection and can occur on their own without any reason - taking a short course of oral antibiotics usually clears the problem in 5-7 days. If boils come repeatedly though then underlying Diabetes and asymptomatic bacterial carriage need to be checked for.

Hello, I have had a nail fungus for a good ten years or so. When I first noticed it, I went to my doctor and he game me lamasil which I stopped taking after a few days since it had negative affects on me. Thereafter, I stopped taking care of it and just let it go for a good 7 or 8 years. I eventually grew up and started getting very self conscious of how it looked and wanted to wear sandals and flip flops and not have people think nasty things about me. A few years ago I went to my doctor again and he gave me a topical oil which I used for over a year and did not see any results. About two years ago, I noticed that a vertical brown line was starting to grow from the bottom up. I went to a dermatologist who took a sample of my nail but did not take a sample of the nail bed or from the cuticle. Biopsy came back as of course it being a fungus. He in turn gave me pills to take which I also had to stop taking since it was having a bad affect on my liver. After that, my dermatologist said that he would give me laser treatments which I did two of. They did not clear it but it looks a little bit better then what it was before. Still thick, yellow, crumbling below the nail, nail bed where new nail is growing is darker then the others and the brown line is still there. It is a thick brown line. How did I get this brown line? Did I get it because of the prolonged damage of the nail bed due to the years of having the nail fungus?

You're most welcome. Nail Melanoma does not affect multiple nails together while Longitudunal Melanonychia (LM) often does. The fact that an additional nail is showing changes is nearly conclusive that this is LM, which as I said is harmless. However it would be best to see your doctor to get this confirmed since I cannot see the affected area. I have had amenerhea after the pill and had not had a period since last April (9 months ago). My OB put me on progesterone to induce withdrawal bleed and is likely going to diagnose PCOS. She is supposed to call today but first labs showed a Fsh:lh of over 3:1 so it looks like PCOS. I am having a very painful withdrawal bleed on this progesterone. Started with right side pain, constant ache in pelvic region now, and pain during bowel movements/urination? Does this sound normal for a progesterone withdrawal bleed?

Hi, Small cyst rupturing does not cause pain usually and since you are better with nsaids, you don't need to do anything and may continue with nsaids. But haemorrhagic cyst are painful(extreme degree) and if your pain is not relieved by nsaids or you think pain is aggravating or it may be unbearable,it will be advisable to go for an ultrasound abdomen to rule out any kind of haemorrhage. Hello Doctor this is Emmanuel Nice to hear from you, actually my skin is not extremely very dark but compared to a 'White skin' it is, I'm not very pinkish, but I'm fairer than the other dark people. If I come under bright lights I look fair I don't know what medicine changed my skin colour as I'm not good at medicine. My toes, feet, neck, Hands and other private parts like me penis are also dark, I've tried the Vitamin C Calamine lotion Multani mitti allovera face wash drank water used sunscreens accordingly these only work to certain extent and I feel these are meant for people who are looking to improve their complexion and not to restore the original skin colour. I actually look like a South Asain. It took some time may be about a month my complexion became dark. Hi Emmanuel, Thank you for the photographs. The areas you mention - hands, feet, penis and scrotum are naturally darker than the rest of the body. The reasons for this are different. The penis and scrotum are darker because they have a very rich blood supply and this makes the skin darker. No treatment is required or indeed effective here. i 7 years back in school tried an anal-gay with my classmate nothing worked out. but, then i had rashes near the navel & genitals it was itchy. it was not red & no boils it caused dry skin. are the incident & the rashes related?? do i have hiv?? i asked my friend he said "no" he never had these symptoms. now i have a small white spot on my penis. i never took any treatment but the rashes went off. but the white spot just appeared what should i do?? is it fatal?? i wanna be a commercial pilot wat should i do??

Hi, White patch can be vitiligo and rashes can be due to simple bacterial infection it can't be said what is it without examining you. Hello Mam, I am 25 and my inner tighs and vaginal area are very dark in color. I have consulted doctor about the dark color of inner tighs and she suggested me to use SPARKEL cream (hydroquinone, tretinoin and mometasone furote cream). I am using it from past 1 week and sometimes when the skin peel off it burns. I use the same cream at night.
