Hi,
Novaclox is a good medicine, and yes it can be taken for a boil, but you should be sure that it is a boil because bartholin cyst can also happen besides the vagina.
Other non prescription drugs are ibuprofen to relieve pain, and sitz bath will also help you and give you comfort. Warm compresses can speed healing.
You should visit a gynecologist if you have severe discomfort while sitting, walking or there is some discharge through vagina although if it is bartholin then should also go off within a few days just with non prescription drugs i told you.

However if the cyst(bartolin) is blocked and and gets infected it might not go away by it self then.then you may have to apply more medical surgical treatments to it.

I used ibuprofen, but the painkiller starts to wear off in 4 hours. Wat can i do so that i am able to walk properly and sit because the pain is unbearable sometimes and right now i am having exams. So is there any alternative before i consult my gynecologist?

Hi,
There are only two types of treatment which can be given to you medical and surgical.
If the treatment is medical then it is one anti inflammatory(ibuprofen 3-4 times daily),one antibiotic(novaclox three times daily),one probiotic, and plenty of water help you flush your system.
Pain killer is the only thing to reduce pain, but you can use a little warm compresses also that would also help you and have sitz bath in night(fill your bath tub and sit in it so that your hips are dipped in,you may use only warm water or alternatively warm and cold water whatever suits you this would help you)
Till the time you have your exams or if you are visiting some place then you can pain killers a little more frequently, but visit a gynecologist as soon as possible and she would tell you if you need only medical treatment or do you need some surgical intervention as well which can only be told after examination.
