Chemical Peel to lighten the darken skin??

42 yo female. I have an approx. pencil eraser sized lumped on my right tonsil that is flesh colored and in which I can see the veins in. There is a spot of white on the front of the lump I'm thinking could be bacteria. My concern with the lump is that it appears more as a hemroid would, a lump pushed through the skin wall, not as a lump sitting on the skin wall. I have used a q-tip to investigate the lump with no change. It is near the top of the side of my throat above the tonsil where the throat is starting to curve up. It is smooth all around this spot with only this lump coming down from the wall of my throat there, and the flesh color and veins match that of the smooth skin surrounding it.

Hi, Try not to worry too much. There are many conditions associated with bulging neck veins, enlarged or swollen glands & lump or bulge. Tell us if you have history of smoking in past, sudden weight loss, bad breath, sore throat, hoarseness,fever or pain during swallowing. sir/mam, i am having accute vit d deficiency.it was not known to me earlier so i started taking skin treatment which includes isotretinoin 20 mg n antibiotics.i had yellow peel twice n wen i moved out in sun for longer durations,my skin has got burnt n lost its glow.m feeling like an aged person.please let me know if there s a better alternative the peels.i am having active acne on my jaw line n forehead, blackheads and acne scars.

Hello Doctor this is Emmanuel Nice to hear from you, actually my skin is not extremely very dark but compared to a 'White skin' it is, I'm not very pinkish, but I'm fairer than the other dark people. If I come under bright lights I look fair I don't know what medicine changed my skin colour as I'm not good at medicine. My toes, feet, neck, Hands and other private parts like me penis are also dark, I've tried the Vitamin C Calamine lotion Multani mitti allovera face wash drank water used sunscreens accordingly these only work to certain extent and I feel these are meant for people who are looking to improve their complexion and not to restore the original skin colour. I actually look like a South Asain. It took some time may be about a month my complexion became dark. I don't have any other symptoms except for skin darkening and don't have any dark spots either Please advice me with the best medicine. Thanks & Regards Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel, Thank you for the photographs. The areas you mention - hands, feet, penis and scrotum are naturally darker than the rest of the body. The reasons for this are different. The penis and scrotum are darker because they have a very rich blood supply and this makes the skin darker. No treatment is required or indeed effective here. Hello Mam, I am 25 and my inner tighs and vaginal area are very dark in color. I have consulted doctor about the dark color of inner tighs and she suggested me to use SPARKEL cream (hydroquinone, tretinoin and mometasone furote cream). I am using it from past 1 week and sometimes when the skin peel off it burns. I use the same cream at night. Suggest me some cream that can be applied during the day time to avoid the pain caused by the cream. Can I use it on my vagina too?? Or Is there any other cream available which I can use on my vaginal area to improve the color? Apart from it I want to increase my breast size. Kindly suggest me some cream or oil/lotion that can help me in the same.

The medication you are taking is for the hyperpigmentation in the thighs and vaginal area.Any other medication will all have the same composition and same side effects as this ointment.ALso,this medication should not be applied in the inner vagina. i am whaeatish in complexion but with continous sun exposure i am tanned a lot on my face, arms, back ,neck..i dint care for 10 years but now i realize i look very dark and also my chin and forehead is darker than the rest of my face.what to I do, will chemical peel work for me. Is it harmful

Hello, No Chemical Peels are not harmful if done by a Dermatologist. Peels are also being done by untrained people and these can be harmful, e.g in beauty parlours, and these are not recommended. Peels can produce a marked improvement in skin pigmentation and tanning. There are various types of peels and it usually takes 4-6 sessions to see a noticeable improvement.
