My gums have been bleeding on my lower front four teeth for the past couple of days. Now I have started using listerine, it seemed to be working but now I have white soft scabs appearing where the gums were bleeding. I thought it was bacteria but every time I clean them off the gums it starts bleeding again. Any advice on what I should do?

Hi, It can bleed if stitches are given to you,though not heavy bleeding. It might bleed when you spit or may be otherwise but in drops. You should avoid eating anything hard spicy and also avoid eating from that side where teeth are removed and also don't try and gargle or spit continuously. You can have plenty of fluids directly orally,not by straw. You may also have ice cream and it should go away and you may continue with pain killers and antibiotics for now. My father had black stools (upon test it had occult blood), they did endoscopy and found an ulcer in lesser curvature. they did sclerotherapy. after couple of days the stools were normal in color. he got discharged. biopsy showed H.pylori and he was given h.pylori kit, orafer xt and cobadex since he had become anemic. after 2 days he fell unconscious, pissed in pants and later passed stools brown again. hospitalized him again. occult blood was present in stools from tests. they did endoscopy and found no bleeding from ulcer where sclerotherpy was done. everything normal in the stomoch and in both duodenum. he is still passing brown stools. donot know why ? please give your opinion.

Hi, Brown coloured usually may be even normal because of a little high billirubin content in stools. But there is also occult blood in stools so the blood must be coming from some place(intestines,stomach,duodenum) and it has been seen by a endoscopy that your oesophagus and stomach and duodenum are normal,now there can be blood from other sites, from lower gastro intestinal tract (colon,rectum). i am a 24 yr old girl , i had a medical abortion at 6 march 2013 last month. i had all my blood test done prior and it was normal. i had also undergone a pelvic usg and i was 5 weeks pregnant. after 2 weeks from abortion i had a pelvic usg done and doctor reassured it was done and my uterus was empty.i strted bleeding on 21st march 2013 and doctor said she's not sure but could be my periods (bleeding started 1 day after i was assured uterus empty). yesterday 03 april 2013 about after 30 days , i am having right side lower abdominal pain travelling downwards and diarhea all day and discharge from vagina. the discharge is not smelly but its continusly coming like a string . i am worried as i do not know what is happening . why am i having diarrhea pain and discharge. is it jus a virus or do i have some infection ? Baby is suffering from cold and more importantly cough since past 2 days. Doctor has prescribed T-minic drops 0.5 ml oral for 3 days and post to which cough didnot subside, then to use Kufril drops 0.5 ml thrice a day. However on using first instance of T-minic baby had pooped 4 times (Can be because he was on antibiotics just a week back for ear infection. His stools were more in number atleast twice after every feed. But once medicnes are stopped his stools were back to normal and he poops only once a day). and also his cough has increased very much. His feeding routine got slightly distrubed as he is not able to complete the bottle with ease. He leaves an ounce or so sometimes due to stuffy nose or congestion. Are these medications safe for a 5 month old baby? if not what precautions to be taken to soothe him from cough and cold?

My 3 year old has bad hives. I believe they are hives like urticaria but he was diagnosed with eczema since he was 1 year old. Now hes over 3 1/2 and it has exploded covering 80% of his body like rashes, bumps, very dry skin. His skin on legs looks like a bad sunburn and regular baths are a nightmare as the water irritates him as well as ANY kind of moisturizer. He look away Lanoline from AMD and spent over $1k in lotions and stuff alone. Food allegies were done and low on corn, wheat, oranges, soy, and few other items. Just keeping him 100% in home with air conditioner set at 68 degrees with air purifier going, new blanket, strict diet IT DOES ZERO. Im so frustrated. He went from little manageable eczema to a full blown mess. Been to doctors so many times as well as dermatologist and allergist to no aval. Also had soft yellow stools for a long time. Any kind of pressure to face turns it to a red mess and with hot skin.
