hi. i am 31 weeks pregnant. i had loose motions (diarrhoea), so i took one capsule of eldoper (loperamide hydrochloride 2mg) last night. i am really concerned if that effects foetus. Please answer. i would be grateful to you. thank you

Hi!! loperamide is a drug not recommended in pregnancy ( esp in early pregnancy),but if one dose is taken it does not justify termination of pregnancy or any additional monitoring of the fetus.So ,don't take any other doses of loperamide . Now I am 10 weeks pregnant and my doctor is saying that USG is showing that the foetus is 9 weeks old and no such limbs are seen in the foetus. Doctor advised to take Injection CORION 5000IU weekly and ARGIPREG Sachet -1 sachet daily with other regular Tablets like ASA 50(1 daily), SYSFOL PLUS (2tab daily) and DUBAGEST-200(1 daily). Doctor is suspecting the foetus is of poor growth and poor liquor. Doctor said to take Injection for 3 weeks and if any improvements are not found then, I have to discontinue my pregnancy, but I am not in a mood to take such decision. Please guide me if I can carry my pregnancy and what shall I do now?

your case is one of high risk pregnancy as you have had one previous still birth. If Baby has poor birth weight and leads to still birth ,then other causes of poor growth of baby in recurrent pregnancies needs to be evaluated.Please get your thyroid profile done,thrombophilia screen done as these are the most common causes of theses problems.also let me know whether the baby was normal in appearance in previous pregnancy and if any autopsy was suggested to you. inj corion and is given to suppo ...

I am 7 weeks pregnant and have taken meprate 10 mg for 5 days thrice daily thinking I am suffering from PCOS. I didn't have my periods since nov'12. I did an ultrasound and everything is normal in that. I didn't got bleeding as well since I was pregnant. I am hearing mixed opinions about side effects of meprate on foetus. Hi!! Meprate ( medroxyprogesterome acetate) is safe if taken accidentally in pregnancy.It is norethindrone( norethisterone ) that has harmful effects of genital organs of the female fetus. Also,fetal genital organs are affected between 7-9 weeks of pregnancy. There is no method to know that fetus does not have any congenital malformations.Even ultrasound cannot pick up many congenital malformations which may be due to various reasons ...

hi... m 11 weeks pregnant... last week when i went for a routine checkup with my gynae, she told me that my baby has no visible heartbeat and the foetus is just 8+3 weeks old... Doctor is suspecting the foetus is of poor growth. She had advised me to take Corion 5000IU Injection for 3 weeks and if any improvements are not found then, I have to terminate my pregnancy. I donâ€™t want to abort my child. Is it healthy and safe to continue with my pregnancy if the results will come fine? Some of the family friends were telling me that in such cases when the foetus growth is poor, there are the chances of delivering a baby with some kind of mental or physical deformities... Pls guide me and tell me what should I do now!
