hi my dad (68 years) has undergone a Turp sugery on 23rd Dec.He has been fitted with a cathether..He has been prescribed the following medicines (Pan 40 mg, levomac,augmentin 625 mg, chymoral fote)..He is taking it regularly...But the problem is he feels sleepy always and in a day sleeps for atleast 16 hrs (altough not so tight sleep)..am not sure of the reason why he feels so drowsy..can it be because of the tablets..also for info he was given spinal anaesthasia for the sugery..please advise..

Hi, I would recommend you to get a serum electrolyte done of your dad. If sodium levels comes out to be low then you have the cause and you will have to add a bit of salt in his diet and he will improve. Hi, You told me that your father is having hallucinations(he sees what is not there actually),these are commonly seen due to hyperosmolar, hyperglycemic , nonketotic syndromes. The cause of hallucination is usually rapid rise in blood sugar.(the cause might be some exisiting infection in body). My appendix ruptured 4 days before I went into the hospital for any treatment. Obviously at the time I was very unaware of what it was until after being diagnosed through a very rapid volly of tests and scans, which within hours resulted into surgery. I thought I pulled a muscle or broke/chipped a rib. After I woke from survey the doctor explained my appendix did rupture but luckily, and she quoted to "luckily" in the "chances of winning the lottery" way. she went on to explain that it looked like it ruptured days ago.(I went 4 days of same intense pain levels). She said where it ruptured was "luckily" so close to my colon that the poisonous puss acualy fused my ruptured appendix to the side of my colon which resulted in a, and again I quote, "a miracle bandage", that somewhat sealed most of the deadly toxins that surely would of.."should of" killed me within hours, a few days at best, without immediate care and heavy antibiotics. It was so bad she had to remove part of my colon and needed to make 2 separate incisions. I lay here now after a 2 day after care stay, at my home, with a long drain tube still attached and sucking poison out, a bottle of pain meds which I won't take and refused before surgery also, and a huge bottle of strongest antibiotics prescribable that I must take for at minimum 14 days. I'm a single full time father of 3 girls, twins(almost 14) and a 10yr old. We have no other family, they are what I live for, my strength, my joy, my pride and I litteraly thank god every night for allowing me to care, provide, and have another day together. I never thought I could be more grateful for each day given my past I didn't deserve it. my question is simply this, and thank you for reading, Was I really that close to death? Or is my doctor trumping it up so I'm more conscious about seeing my doc more than once every 5-7 years if that? I will start regular check ups and won't tuff things out to much as a result..BUT COULD I HAVE DIED THAT FAST? THAT EASILY?? please be straight up..no bs..no need to be drawn out.. My husband's blood pressure was 162/90 yesterday. When he sat down and drank water, his blood pressure began to go down. Being that he is a firefighter what should I be concerned about? Also heart disease DOES run on his dad's side of family, his grandfather died at a very young age of a heart attack; I believe in his 20's or 30's...his father has a defibrillator and had 3 heart attacks. whatever is in the left side of his face out He also has had very odd symptoms in his face and head, he tells me if he could only pull out whatever blanket of stuff is in his head, he would feel so much better. I would reccomend your husband to visit first of all cardiologist and then neurologist. His condition can be very serious, depending on his symptoms and heridity, so immediate visit to doctor is necessary. Some investigations should be done in a hospital. Hi, I'm 37 yrs old. I have a 17yrs old boy thur c-section. I'm 30 wks pregnant; Result of blood sugar test after fasting and glucose is on the higher side so the doctor has put me on a diet to avoid gestational diabetes (since my dad was diabetic, my doctor put me on a diet on my 1st pregnancy as well). Hello there. I want to know the reason why you had to go C section on your 1st delivery. It would matter if you could give birth thru Vaginal delivery in this 2nd pregnany.
