Hi I just started taking an oral contraceptive and my gums have started to bleed and are very tender. I brush my teeth twice a day and regularly go to the dentist. This is the first problem I have had with my teeth or gums. IS it possible the two are related?

Hi, main cause for the bleeding & tender gums is Bacterial Deposits on the tooth surface i.e. Plaque. Oral contraceptives can alter the response of Gums to the Plaque. Hi, There are no harms to take i-pill(no reaction),but the t.b medicines reduces the efficacy of emergency contraceptive and the dose of i-pill might be needed to be repeated depending on how patient profile. Repeat dose of i-pill might be recommended,but only after prescription,as repeat dose may also cause excessive bleeding so don't prescribe to self. Hello Doctor, I just wanted to ask regarding on my pcos prblem. I was diagnosed having pcos on both of my ovaries and my doctor prescribed me metformin 500mg daily for about 6mos as well as contraceptive pills. On my 1st month, I took Fertyl 50mg but it was not on my prescription instead of contraceptive pills. Will it help me to get pregnant taking Fertyl and Metformin instead of the prescribed contraceptive pills knowing that I have pcos? Will it help my pcos problem to shrink and have an ovulated egg?
