Hi, Usually expired calpol does not have serious serious side effects,the expired drug is just reduced in efficiency . You should just look that you don't have any expired antibiotic cause that can be serious. If in case you have any mild rashes or something you can take a cetrizine 5mg for that and reaction should usually subside,however if there is any difficulty in breathing or heavy rashes then you may consult a doctor for that. my daughter with age of 10 months having fever from last five days ,i consultated many doctors and they told me go for following tests urine xamnations which reported heavy traces of albumin andleucocuytes 0-1 and amorphours phosphates (+) and some blood tests like tlc =15500 and neutrphilli= 75 mcv=79.8 and mch= 24 which are marked yellow and pbf comments was=RBCS ARE MICROCYCTIC HYPOCHROMIC.AND WBCS SERIES SHOW NEUTROPHILIC LEUOCYTOSIS AND ALSO WIDAL TEST SHOWS YELLOW MARKED REPORT LIKE A TITAND RISE IS TITER AFTERER OF 1;80 OR MORE IS CONSIDERDERD SIGNIFICANT AND RISE IN TITER AFTER FEW DAYS WILL CONFIRM THE DIAGONASIS. Hi, The history you have given to me suggests that she got fever and infection since 5 days or may be a little more which has also affected her kidneys as that shows albumin in urine. Tlc is not significant in kids, and exactly it can be told only by blood culture,but we can wait and see is she responding to drugs or not and if she does not respond then we can get a culture done. I have a 22 month old daughter. She is having fever right now. Today's the first day. Fever is around 102 degrees. I have given her Sinarest paeditric drops 1.5ml. Is that the right dosage? Should I continue with that or should I shift to Calpol Paedritic drops (each ml contains Paracetamol IP 100 mg, colour - sunset yellow). What should be the dosage?

Thanks for your query Sinarest drops contain paracetamol for fever and phenylpropalamine for nasal decongestion. If your daughter is not having any nasal symptoms there is no need to give sinarest drops and these should be given only under medical supervision could be harmful.I suggest you to shift to calpol which is more safe for children.Dose is 15mg/kg.If your daughter is 15 kg u may give her 1.5 ml calpol drops every 6 hourly along with sponging with water at room temperature all over the b ...

Hi.. my daughter 3.5years old got sick yesterday.. 38-39temp.. was using calpol and neurofen to control her tem.. on our gp advice now she on 2.5ml three times..(tonzils infection) but the antibioticks not afecting her temp (39Â°c) so far.. gp advice- to give paracetamol or neurofen to control her temp.. she says antibiotics will start to work only afer 24-47 hours.. its thats true or we need onother antibiotics. Btw- she is not complaining for sore throat.. thank you

Hello, If you mean Crocin medication than yes it is the same as Calpol. The are both trend names for what we call medically acetaminophen. Different countries give acetaminohen different names, in India it is called Crocin, in some countries of Europe it is called Calpol but it is the same chemical and drug and 500 mg of Crocin is the same as 500 mg of Calpol. Sir I m having typhoid fever from last one month. My widal test came negative so doctor gave me tab cefixime bd and tab pcm tds but after five days I found no cure and fever got raised. Then I got tested again and my typhidot igm was positive and malaria dengue and typhidot igG were negative so doctor started cepodem AZ bd and calpol 650tds and again after 5 days there was no change ,condition got more worse as I was unable to swallow anything. Then doctor advised me inj.monocef 2 gm bd for 7 days.these days m taking this treatment at home. Condition has little improved but still I got fever once a day. Today is the second day of start of inj monocef. I want to ask u Is the dose is fine?? (it seems too high to me) Should I take it for 5 days or 7 days?? Is it fine to take the treatment on opd basis or I should get admit?? Is this much high dose will effect my kidneys as well and what blood tests should I get done now ??
