my daughter with age of 10 months having fever from last five days ,i consultated many doctors and they told me go for following tests urine xamnations which reported heavy traces of albumin andleucocuytes 0-1 and amorphours phosphates (+) and some blood tests like tlc =15500 and neutrphilli= 75 mcv=79.8 and mch= 24 which are marked yellow and pbf comments was=RBCS ARE MICROCYCTIC HYPOCHROMIC.AND WBCS SERIES SHOW NEUTROPHILIC LEUOCYTOSIS AND ALSO WIDAL TEST SHOWS YELLOW MARKED REPORT LIKE A TITAND RISE IS TITER AFTERER OF 1;80 OR MORE IS CONSIDERDERD SIGNIFICANT AND RISE IN TITER AFTER FEW DAYS WILL CONFIRM THE DIAGONASIS. KINDLY TELL ME ABOUT THE DIEASES OF DAUGHTER AND PROPER DIAGONASIS .OR WHAT WILL I DO NOW .. RIGHT NOW DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED MONCEF 200MG INJECTION TWICE A DAY AND CALPOL SUSPENSION . BUT FEVER DIDNT GOES OUT .. IF SOMETIMES IT LOWERS BUT AFTER SOMETIME IT WAS 103 DEGREES

Hi, The history you have given to me suggests that she got fever and infection since 5 days or may be a little more which has also affected her kidneys as that shows albumin in urine. Tlc is not significant in kids, and exactly it can be told only by blood culture,but we can wait and see is she responding to drugs or not and if she does not respond then we can get a culture done. 1. My grand daughter 2 yrs of age having severe lose motion or diarrhea for the last 4 days and passing watery yellowish stool every 5 to 10 minutes. Had slight temperature max 101.5 Deg F, for the first two days. Now there is no temperature. 2. She is being hydrated and has been passing urine occasionally. She is 11kg by weight. 3. Urine and stool tests have been carried out. There is no infection. 4. Urine : Albumin- Trace, Ketone Bodies-Present +, Red Bllod Cells-Absent, Puss Cell-4-5/HPF, Epithelial Cells-2-3/HPF 5. Stool: reducing substances- Present +, Puss cells – 2-3/HPF, Epithelial cells-Occasional. (Oval Cysts not seen) 6. Local doctor says she will be all right but her watery stool continues unabated and we are extremely worried. She is losing her body weight and becoming cranky. Her skin around anus has become swollen & reddish. 7. She has been put on liquid O2 Suspension from today (Ofloxacin and Orindazole) 8. Please let us know: a. How can we stop the lose motion of such high frequency. b. Is O2 has some side effect? Do you suggest any other medicine c. Is it normal that such watery stool can continue for such log time? d. Please advice what should be done now.

Thanks for your query Since your granddaughter is having such high frequency of loose motions,she may become dehydrated anytime,so please take her to a health facility and get her examined.She might need admission and fluid drip.Till the time being please give her ORS solutions to drink 100 ml after each loose stool.She is having reducing substances in her stools which suggest she is having osmotic diarrhoea most likely due to lactose intolerance so avoid milk in her diet till she recovers.Stoo ...

my bilirubin (total) is found 0.97 mg/dl, bilirubin direct is found 0.33 mg/dl, SGOT is found 41 iu/l, SGPT is found 80.9 iu/l, alkaline phosphatase is found 101 iu/l & albumin is found 4.2 gm/dl after going through a liver functioning test. I am very much worried about the SGPT count which came abnormal. i do not take regular alcohol, but i do take some medicines like norflox tz or ciprowin tz whenever i came across stomach upsets. Sir, please suggest me what should i do now and shall it be dangerous that the count came abnormal? please help.

Hi, Are you facing any symptoms like itching,fever,any accident you had or any problem with muscle or something or may be any problems with urine. Although only alcohol can also raise the tests like this,but if you would be facing any symptom then we would get your more further tests to tell you how serious they are. Hi, I am not sure,your doctor must have examined you so he can might be telling better,but i belive you should have complet liver tests including pt aptt and coagulation profile and billirubin levels and also repeat the tests you already have. Although yellow eyes can also be due to mddy sclera,some people have muddy sclera. Your tsh is also raised so he might be telling you for some test or may be you could be directly be put on medicines for this. Time taken is different for diffirent person ...

My urine test ( bile pigment , urobilinogen , biliru bin , ketone bodies , albumin , glucose ) all is negative .... And reaction is alkaline ,,, ph :- 8.0 color:- yellow is that all normal??

hi 3 weeks ago i had this severe itchiness all over my body specially at night, dark yellow urine at some yellowish in my sclera. my 1st lab test are. bilirubin.2.06 which is elevated, my sgpt is 365 and sgot is 245.im negative with hep ABC and my ultrasound said that there is remarkably increase echo in my parenchyma..and now my bilirubin is 1.6. sgpt 600. sgot is 265. protrombin tim and inr is normal.ggt is slightly elevated, alk-phos is normal,albumin is normal,total protein is normal.. i dont have itchiness already. i am not alcoholic but i used to drinks energy drinks for the past 2 years.. im worried with my liver enzymes. what would it be the posible cause?

Thanks for your query. Probably you were suffering from obstructive jaundice. But the lab reports are confusing. The SGOT,SGPT indicate liver cell damage. Do you take any drugs or herbs? The second report indicates that condition is improving. But we need to find out the cause. Please investigate for Hepatitis E virus. I suspect that. my dad did a test for leptospirosis a week after exposure to contaminated water, the result is negative. I have read articles saying that incubation period of the bacteria is up to 3 weeks. Is it possible to become positive even if the first test is negative? 2 or 3 weeks after exposure, my dad got fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen ankle (I dont know if it's because of his gout. his uric acid result is at 420). He said that it is just flu. He had his urine test recently, color: yellow orange. transparency: slightly turbid. reaction: acidic ph 6.0. specific gravity: 1.030. sugar: negative. albumin: trace. RBC: 4-6/HPF. PUS CELL: 1-3/HPF. CAST: NONE FOUND. crystals: amorphous urates few. epithelial cells: rare. mucous threads: +++. bacteria: rare. Can this urine test result determine if he has leptospirosis?? Can this urine test result determine of his kidney is fine? What does 4-6 /hpf mean? thank you very much for your answer.

Hi, the clinical feature of your father is suspicious. Leptospirosis may sometimes present with fever and muscle pain. There is RBC in the urine which is also abnormal. I suggest you to repeat the antibody and urine test. And don't bother to visit a doctor if the fever worsen. Thanks ...
