Hi , on a routine dental check up my doctor suggested that I might have Candida on my Tongue . My tongue looked normal to me , I didn't notice any unusual "white stuff" on it but the test was done afterwards at my GP and results came back positive for candida . My doctor prescribed Daktarin . I was using it for one week - and instead to get cured my tongue is now obviously infected by candida and covered in white . It looks much worse since I used Daktarin for one week . It looked normal before . I did not use antibiotics , I'm not hiv positive , I'm not taking any other medications or known conditions . I do work hard and I'm under lot of stress all the time . Also I'm vegeterian and forgot to mention , I had Lymphoma Cancer and Chemotherapy but that was a long time ago ( 7 years ago ) Any idea why Daktarin is not working after one week of usage ? ( I don't eat sugar / Yeast ) Thank you Sir !

I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER YOU HAVE ANY OTHER ORAL PROBLEMS OTHER THAN YOUR CANDIDA ON TONGUE, LIKE MULTIPLE ORAL ULCERS WHICH OCCURS FREQUENTLY, RESTRICTED MOUTH OPENING, BURNING MOUTH, CAVITIES IN TEETH.
AND ALSO AT PRESENT ARE YOU HAVING ANY IRRITATION IN TONGUE..

Daktarin is an Anti-Fungal and should have worked . 'Candida Albicans' Infection or 'Oral Thrush' results mainly from one's low Immunity, Stress, Bad diet and Ill health. The fungus lies dormant for many years and reappears again at the time for the reasons stated before. You will have to clean your tongue with a Tongue Cleaner available at the Chemist store after every meals and you can start with Candida Cell Wall suppressors if the condition persists.

HELLO , no Sir , I don't have any other Oral problems , no ulcers , no candida present on other places in my mouth - only on my tongue ( moustly back of my tongue ) . But I do have very Large Mercury feeling ( 30 years old ) in my mouth . Burning sensation on my tongue yes but only when I overdo with mouthwash , scrapping on my tongue and everything else while trying to make my tongue look all pink and nice . I did have diet high on Sugar , lot's of sweets , red bull x 5 times per day and so on . Any ideas Sir ?

The Large Amalgam filling 30 years old should be ruled out as the cause. If you overdo oral mouthwashes and rinses then the balance of essential normal bacterial flora in the oral cavity is disturbed leading to super imposition of certain strain of harmful bacteria which in normal conditions lie dormant resulting in lower local resistance of the body and that may be one of the reasons for Candida to take over. Good brushing and using hexidine mouth wash only at night shall help. Avoid overindulgence.

My father is 78 years old and has been suffering from constipation for the last 2 years. He has also lost a lot of weight around 10 kgs in this time span. In the last couple of months he has been complaining that his abdominal muscles have torn due to bowel straining and now he says there is loss of muscle in his stomach area. Which is why when he lies down everything is fine but when he sits up and walks around he feels like he is carrying a weight in his stomach. After intake of food it becomes worse and he also gets bloating. We have done all possible tests - colonoscopy, CT scan, ultrasound sometime last year and everything was clear. The doctors gave a verdict of idiopathic constipation and left it at that. His blood work is fine, haemoglobin levels, cholestrol etc. He still suffers from constipation. His prostrate is enlarged but results are fine. What is the solution to his stomach muscle problem ? Is it lack of exercise, lack of protein ? He doesnt have a pot belly and has never had and had always been physically active and fairly slender.

Hi, History told by you favours irritable bowel syndrome ( IBS ). There are two alarming signs in your case : Firstly, loss of weight and that to10kg approx. Secondly, sensation of carrying a weight in stomach. Both of them do occurs in IBS. I was suffering from blood in my stool from long time until i consulted a doc and he said that i have fissure. I got it cured through ointments and having drinking fibre. However, from last few monts I have started suffering from incomplete evacuation. All the time my stomach is bloated up and I dont feel like eating anything. I have increased my water intake and also have started eating fibre fruits to a great extent but nothing is helping me. Howsoever hard I try, I am not able to evacuate completely. I go to washroom at least 5 times a day but still i feel full all the time. Sometimes I get black stool and sometimes its normal. My stool is not hard at all. I feel uneasy all the time. Hi, Since you have had a fissure, chances of recurrence are high. Constipation is just one of the causes of fissure. There can be other causes, for example, there can be a tear in anal canal, or there may be a foreign body present in body, or it can happen during normal labor. My left wisdom tooth has been growing in side ways, but has not been able to come in fully. It started hurting about two days ago. I did not think anything of it and thought it was just growing in more. There was a flap of skin/gum covering part of the tooth. When I went to brush my teeth this morning, I noticed that part of it (underneath where the skin covered before) was now a blackish color. I got a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes only on the left side of my throat around the same time my tooth started hurting. Are these related? I have a dentist appointment in a week. Is there anything I can do to help it to make it better or ease the pain? It hurts to chew on that side of my mouth and it hurts when I swallow. Dear Sir/Madam, I have had intercourse with my boyfriend 5 months back and had abortion pills by consulting a Doctor online. The only blood test that can show whether you are pregnant or the previous abortion was an incomplete one is a serum beta hcg -this checks the hormone for pregnancy in the blood.If less than 5 ,then pregnancy is negative. Hello, I have had a nail fungus for a good ten years or so. When I first noticed it, I went to my doctor and he game me lamasil which I stopped taking after a few days since it had negative affects on me. Thereafter, I stopped taking care of it and just let it go for a good 7 or 8 years. I eventually grew up and started getting very self conscious of how it looked and wanted to wear sandals and flip flops and not have people think nasty things about me. A few years ago I went to my doctor again and he gave me a topical oil which I used for over a year and did not see any results. About two years ago, I noticed that a vertical brown line was starting to grow from the bottom up. I went to a dermatologist who took a sample of my nail but did not take a sample of the nail bed or from the cuticle. Biopsy came back as of course it being a fungus. He in turn gave me pills to take which I also had to stop taking since it was having a bad affect on my liver. After that, my dermatologist said that he would give me laser treatments which I did two of. They did not clear it but it looks a little bit better then what it was before. Still thick, yellow, crumbling below the nail, nail bed where new nail is growing is darker then the others and the brown line is still there. It is a thick brown line. How did I get this brown line? Did I get it because of the prolonged damage of the nail bed due to the years of having the nail fungus?

You're most welcome. Nail Melanoma does not affect multiple nails together while Longitudunal Melanonychia (LM) often does. The fact that an additional nail is showing changes is nearly conclusive that this is LM, which as I said is harmless. However it would be best to see your doctor to get this confirmed since I cannot see the affected area.
