is cystone better or pathrina for flushing out a 7 mm Renal stone

Hi, Renal stone of 7 mm size is a considerably big sized stone and may not disintegrate easily. Cystone and Pathrina are really two very different drugs. None of them is an allopathic drug rather both are ayurvedic drugs. Neeri is helpful for dissolving stones and it has some effects similar to pathrina and some of the mechanism of actions are also same. At present i don't think you need pathrina while you are already taking three drugs. For helping you out further i would recommend you to tak ...

I have done ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis and the report i got is LIVER,GALL BLADDER, PANCREAS, SPLEEN and UNRIARY BLADDR is normal. But KIDNEY : Right kidney : 70*32mm Left kidney : 79*35mm Both kidneys are decreased in size. Renal parenchymal echo texture increased in bilateral kidneys. Cortical indentations noted in bilateral kidneys. No calculi or hydronephrosis in either kidney. PROSTATE :: Size : 37*30*35mm (Volume-20 cc) Increased in size. Median lobe of prostate is enlarged. Can u tell me is it very serious now or in future ?

Hi, Yes the report shows that your kidney size is reduced significantly and you need to get many tests before i can make any comment although rest all other things mentioned in the ultrasound are normal. But you will have to get your urine report like urine routine and microcscopy, kidney function test, glomerular filtration rate. Then depending on these test reports we will have to see whether they are enough or we might have to investigate you more. This might be ok or might have to be investi ...

My mother is 88 and recently diagnosed with afib/heart failure. She is on warferin and two other drugs, one is a diuretic and can't remember the other. She does not have diabetes and she is very thin. Of late, her calves and ankles have become very swollen and now she is weeping clear liquid through the skin on her lower leg. She will be visiting the doctor, but I was wondering what, if any, treatments there are for this condition.

Hi, the most probable, evident cause which can bring to legs swelling in this situation is heart failure worsening. Heart failure can progress even in case that patient accurately takes prescribed drugs. Atrial fibrillation complicates, worsenes the course of disease. Try to reach her doctor as soon as possible. Doctor may advice to increase diuretic doses, contunue treatment in-hospital states and in general fortified heart failure treatment brings the patient to a compensated condition within ...

should my 72 yr old husband who has stage 3 or 4 heart failure, has afib, also has a icd implanted and who has just developed diabetes 2 should he take Metformin HCL 500 mgs tablets twice daily with a meal? One Dr. prescribed it and another Dr. of his says no...will make him lose weight and go against his heart. What is your opinion?

As cardiologist I can tell you that metformin is not contraindicated in patients who have heart failure, on contrary, it controls blood suger, lowers levels of cholesterin and so it protects patient's heart vessels. The only conditions when metformin is absolutely contraindicated is acute miocardial infarction and nonstable angina! But, there exists another thing that needs to be considered, metformin has side effect called lactic acidosis, which itself can cause arrhythmias and some other symp ...
