I am post menopausal (for 4 years). 2 weeks ago, after ONLY urinating, and only wiping the front, there has been a ~2-inch gob of brown goo on the toilet paper. My doctor sent me to the ER in the event is was stool - I had a rectocele repair 2 years ago. It was not stool. ER referred me to an OB-GYN who examined me and did a biopsy and said everything looked normal. Then it happened again last night. It smells bad, so I had presumed it was stool, but obviously it is not. I am also having cramps (for the past 3-4 months) which I've mentioned to my primary care doctor. Is this anything to be concerned about or just normal post-menopause junk coming out? Thank you.

hi, considering you had undergone a rectocele repair 2 years ago, there are high chances that this discharge me be stool unless proved otherwise. This may come due to a condition called Recto-vaginal fistula. You need to send the discharge coming out from the vagina for 'Culture and Antibiotic Sensitivity' testing. If the culture (where they grow the bacteria in the sample) shows E.Coli as one of the organisms / bacteria, then you have to undergo a series of tests for diagnosis of recto-vaginal ...

On few occasions during the first day of my menstruation cycle, I get SEVERE cramps and my hands go absolutely numb and freeze up to the point where I can't move my fingers at all. I break out into a cold sweat and breathe rapidly. This lasts about an hour. Always on my first day, and I've gotten these episodes ever since I started menstruating since I was 13. About 1-2 times a year. Help?!

Hello Akish, hope you doing good. Well the symptoms you have mentioned above are totally normal, we call it premenstrual syndrome, almost 85% of females experience these symptoms during their first day of period or few days before periods. Exact cause of premenstraul syndrome is unkown but it is believed that it is caused by changes in sex hormones (Estrogen & progesterone) and some chemical changes in brain. Treatment of it involves some Non-steriodal anti inflammatory drugs like tablet Ibuprofe ...

I am 62 & have osteoporosis. I hit my lower leg 3 days ago getting decorations out. No bruise or swelling but bad pain. I hit the mid of lower leg but pain goes down to ankle when I walk. Any ideas?

Hi thanks for the query. From the complaints you had explained i would first like to consider your age and osteoporosis. I advice you to visit your local orthoaedician and get an x-ray of leg to rule out any injury to bone. Some time it could be injury to the soft tissue around the bone giving pain down to the ankle. ...

I recently had a period that started very light and evened out to a normal flow by the end but i experienced no usually period cramps, headaches, pain and what not. Then 2 days after my period ended i started experiencing a light pinkish discharge. Its normal in consistency compared to my usually ovulation discharge but the color is something I've never seen before. I am sexually active. Is this normal? or should be alarmed?

Hi there. It won’t harm if you will go to the nearest gynecologist so that he or she may conduct a pelvic exam. Pinkish discharge may mean a lot of things. It can be normal like ovulation, or can be an anatomic problem like polyp. But I think it is perfectly ok that you did not get cramps or any premenstrual symptoms. ...
