Hi there I have been to the doctors on Xmas eve and he said I have sinusitis as all my nasal passage was blocked I had a lot of pressure and tooth ache and head ache , he told me to take ibuprofen and sudafed and steam inhalation to which I did , that night went to bed and woke with terrible ear ache in my right ear after 4 hours it started cracking and eventually released fluid which then released the pain of ear ache , Christmas Day night it started in my left ear but this time the pain was so bad that nothing touched it and I was almost delirious ! Eventually it to cracked and popped and released fluid ! Both ears are still a little achy but bearable but they are still leaking and I am now a little death and I have ringing in my right ear constantly , I am taking antibiotics now started them on Christmas Day amoxicillin what do you think is going on in there I'm very concerned

My husband age 65 had to have his lower left wisdom tooth removed because there was a cavity on the tooth before the wisdom tooth. The original doctor only removed the tooth November 26, 2012, was given Norco for pain and recommended to take ibuprofen for pain. My husband had pain, and swelling. Original dentist packed the tooth with a special pack. Husband also applied clove oil. He talked to oral surgeons. Went to another surgeon and was given steroids, and antibiotics. My husband had dry socket and the hole was not closing up. So the new surgeon recommended a water pick and brushing the area vigorously to stimulate circulation. THe hole is closing up. Also, a root tip was found and had to be removed which added new pain. My husband is trying to not taking Norco anymore and trying to reduce ibuprofen. But pain level is 1-3 with twinges in jaw. It's been 8 wks. Is that normal? The original wisdom tooth had fused to the bone and had to be sawed in half to be removed. The cavity still hasn't been filled due to other pain.

You have mentioned dry socket, the appropriate treatment for that is use of local antibiotics and systemic analgesics. Kindly get a radiograph done and ask your dentist to irrigate and flush the area before inserting the local medication. ...

My 3yr old son was in a car accident later yesterday afternoon acted fine, no complaints so my husband refused ambulance.. Today he was playing with his sister then just randomly laid down complaining of "head hurt" around 1ish in the afternoon. Since then he has just wanted to be "lay down". Hasn't eaten lunch or dinner. Have kept a close eye on him, gave him a dose of ibuprofen. Around 4p ish he seemed warm and had 99.5 oral. I'm having a hard time whether I should take him to been seen (called Dr and no after hr # available) or if I'm just being over protective mom. He just hasn't been himself since his first complaint, but didn't know if fever possibly could be accident related or just a virus that might be correlation of timing. Thank you!

Well, the complaints may all be related to a viral infection, incidentally following the accident. But we cannot rule out a head injury as cause for his altered behaviour, so its best to take to the hospital ER and make sure he is neurologically stable. Hi. My four year old son has had a high temperature (up to 39.9) since yesterday afternoon. I have been treating him with paracetamol and ibuprofen (alternately) in order to bring him temp down. He has been fine in himself. He has a red inflamed throat but not complaining of pain. He also has now developed a rash (very small red raised spots on his torso (front and back). He does not seem bothered by it. I feel he is okay, obviously some virus or other, but due to the rash I am asking now if you think he should see a doctor. He is singing away in the bath right now. Thanks

As the child has rashes with fever, it is best you consult a doctor. I would also advice you to avoid ibuprofen. Paracetamol SOS should be good enough ...

Hi, I had my last period last January. I have just confirmed that I am pregnant through a pregnancy test maybe 4 days ago. What I am worried about is that, I remember taking Alaxan FR twice when I had a fever, first week of Feb. It really bothers me that it could affect the health and development of my baby. Alaxan FR contains paracetamol and ibuprofen. Paracetamol is fine but it is the Ibuprofen which I learned is not recommended for pregnant women. I haven't gone to my OB yet to consult as about that. Need your opinions/advices. Please. Thanks in advance..
