Hi, I am experiencing a redness on my face after using melas in the night. I use a good sunscreen SPF 30 everyday. I used melas cream coz i hv developed hyperpigmentation on my forehead and cheeks. Will the redness subside on its own.. Or is there something I need to do... Plz suggest

Hello Sunitha, No the redness will not subside if you keep continuing the Melas cream. Melas cream can produce an irritant dermatitis which manifests as skin redness and burning. Stop it for 7 days and apply a soothing moisturizer such as Cetaphil 2-3 times a day along with your sunscreen and at bed time apply cool Aloe Vera gel (e.g Sebamed Hydrating Gel). Sir i've vry oily n acne prone skin and as i've vry fair complexion brown pigmentation on face has occured inspite of sunscreen application.I've undergone photofacial n chemical peeling but my pigmentation has increased. plz prescribe me treatment for hyperpigmentation n gel based sunscreen for super oily skin (hv used la shield, ansolar, rivela n so many sunscreens but all make skin vry oily). Dear Sheenu,with oily and acne prone skin, you should be using a face wash containing salicylic acid in it at least twice a day. For a sunscreen, look for gel based applications like Suncote gel, sunprotek or Zscreen that will protect you while not making your skin greasy. Make sure you apply a large amount (at least 2 tablespoons) whether you are indoors or outdoors at least twice a day. Hi I'm 19 and I have hormonal acne. Moderate. A bp gel was recomended to me but it made my skin so flippin dry and turned all my acne into acne hyperpigmentation.
