I have taken contraceptives for 4 months and then shifted to ayurvedic medicine. My doc says i should go for surgery. what should i do? Is there any home remedy to control the fibroids from growing. Dear Doctor, I am 38years old. I have 1 son who is 14 years of age, and one is 9 years of age. I was having a little bit of bleeding after my periods. On going to my local Gynec., I was told to do a sonography, where they havefound fibroids in the endometrium anteriorly approximately 6cm x 6cm x 6cm. I would like to know if I would be needing to go through a operation or if I can be cured by medication only. Please advise. Best Regards,

In your case if the symptoms are not severe you can try medical management in the form of drugs like oral contraceptive pills or other hormonal preparations which can be used to decrease the size of the fibroid.But the drawback of medical management is that the fibroids regrow back once the treatment is stopped.So one has to be prepared to take medication for a long time. my wife is suffering from uterine fibroid with prominent left falopian tube as found in sonography done recently.the report is as follows : uterus appears mildly bulky and appx measures 8.4 x 5.2 x 4.4 cms. .it appears slightly globular in shape. it shows inhomogeneous parenchymal echotexture. there is relatively well defined iso-hypoechoic intramural fibroid of appx size 3.7 x3.5 x 2.7 cms seen in posterior myometrium.no obvious degenerating areas or vascularity noted. this lesion is in close proximity to the endometrial stripe.it appears to cause displacement and mild distorsion of the adjacent endometrial stripe.endometrial thickness is appx 6mm .the left falopian tube appears prominent (10-11mm). no other obvious focal lesion seen in the uterus. So, pl. suggest probable treatments.How can she get rid of uterine fibroids?

In your case the treatment for the fibroid is only surgical,there is no medicine or diet which can help.Medication which if used causes decrease in the size of the fibroid and they regrow back when the medication is stopped. 43yo, no children (unexplained infertility), skin tags & internal haemorrhoid (open bowels each morning, occassionally 2 times per day), anaemic, 8-10 fibroids, enlarged, retroverted uterus/stomach, large left ovarian septated cyst, bleed 10-14 days with flooding on days 1/2 (change every 1.5-2hrs) & loss of blood clots - 3cm-10cm diameter, 2011 suffered with BV 3 times, last 2 months suffering with thrush on & off (especially after sex/foreplay, or last few days of menstruation). This morning I woke at 3:30am with a gush of fluid - Mostly clear fluid, odourless with 7cm odd size clot of blood. When I stood up, gush of blood & once on the toilet, largest clot loss I have experienced to date. I have now stopped bleeding, with only a blood stained, watery discharge when I wipe. Can you please provide your thoughts before I go to see a new Gyn. I am SICK of being 'sick'!!! I would LOVE to find a Doctor that can tell me SOMETHING useful.

Am having uterine myomas and adenomyosis and possible uterine fibroids. Recently treated with mirena iud to prevent the myoma from growing, control the bleeding and as hormonal therapy. The pain is killing me for 2 weeks now. Dependent with voltfast which is not good for the kidney. Now the only option doctor is advicing me is to undergo hysterectomy.

AM a 48 yr old single lady. Of late my period has been fluctuating (two months on and off) i was adviced to take menstrogen tablets to regulate it. Am not having sex cos of religious beliefs and am not dating BUT HOPEFUL FOR A LIFE PARTNER. I also want to have children when i marry. I also have fibroid issues which does not disturb me, i dont bleed and am not in pains, what are my chances of conception with thesse fibroids (they are 3 intramural) i want to treat them with by using castor oil treatment, is ths advisable too or what do you recommend.
