hi my husband has elevated Total wbc count 13,100percu mm; total rbc count 5.32mill/cu mm; esr (westergreen method)10mm at end of 1hr; hemoglobin 15.1gm/dl, hiv 1 and2 negative. please advice if these findings are suggestive of HIV orAIDS as he has history of unprotected sex.

PAST HISTORY : substance abuse, alcoholic, borderline mood disorder, undergoing rehabilitation

Hi,

No history given by you only suggests infection in body ( because of raised tlc count ), which could be because of any organisam.
Hiv 1 and 2 you yourself told to be negative.

hi, many thanks for your reply. yes, hiv 1 and 2 are negative but its by rapid chromatographic immunoassay method. is it reliable? my question actually was that would the levels be suggestive of seroconversion stage. and are these tests conclusive or should any other technique say western blot be used. please suggest thanks

P.S..... wud also like to mention that hiv 1 and 2 have been done every 3months for since april last year and have been negative consistently. thanks

Hi,

I think you should better go for a western blot test for confirmation.
Yes the test is fine.
But because western blot is more confirmatory that would be better.

Hi, HIV is a disease in which the symptoms usually comes after about 6 months to infinity. They may not even appear for as long as 10 years and you have a total history of 5 months . ECLIA won't appear positive till the antibodies are not made against the virus. It is not 100 percent true but usually it is considered to be effective (even if it is positive, even then it is not shore that you have HIV). My husband age 65 had to have his lower left wisdom tooth removed because there was a cavity on the tooth before the wisdom tooth. The original doctor only removed the tooth November 26, 2012, was given Norco for pain and recommended to take ibuprofen for pain. My husband had pain, and swelling. Original dentist packed the tooth with a special pack. Husband also applied clove oil. He talked to oral surgeons. Went to another surgeon and was given steroids, and antibiotics. My husband had dry socket and the hole was not closing up. So the new surgeon recommended a water pick and brushing the area vigorously to stimulate circulation. THe hole is closing up. Also, a root tip was found and had to be removed which added new pain. My husband is trying to not taking Norco anymore and trying to reduce ibuprofen. But pain level is 1-3 with twinges in jaw. It's been 8 wks. Is that normal? The original wisdom tooth had fused to the bone and had to be sawed in half to be removed. The cavity still hasn't been filled due to other pain.

I have a thick light green substance coming from where my upper wisdom tooth would have been. I had all four removed years ago. The same area hurts as if I have a tooth coming in. The gum is hard toward the top of the jaw and then very soft where the flat of a tooth would be and that is where the substance is coming from. I have a dentists appointment scheduled for Next week but should I go in sooner?
